Sky is pink,Chhapaak,Panga..all under 5 cr openings.But films with social message,well made films,made with budget that they can manage.

They will continue doing these films-It gives them satisfaction,keeps the fans happy.

Someone has to do these films.Male superstars will be chasing 300 crs for a few more years.That is their journey.Big openings,big money.There is a huge ,huge section of the audience waiting to be entertained.Look at South cinema.

Bebo,Kat,PC, DP,Anu,Kangana have had great innings..they are doing their own thing now...Their fans don't care too much about the new kids.

Dragging them into convos may be thrilling for others,but for us it is yawnnnnn🥱

Gangubai will open good because SLB's last few films were huge. Baaki.. trailer, story pe depend karegi

Raazi's opening can be manipulated or bought ticket one too. Like the production house can spend extra 3-4 cr to buy tickets so that opening lag jaaye.

Fox could have done that with Chhappak, but last year they gave big duds, they have no money to waste.

The genre matters the most. Box office pull is a myth. If you cater to your fans what they want and match the perception of general public then you will get a very good opening. Rest depends on hype, buzz, marketing material, reviews and release date.

What about highway then opened at 4 cr with mere 700 screens that to when alia was a newcomer ??
