The point is the opening was 4cr. When her last one was a blockbuster and first day ke collection uske PR ne uske hai claim kiya tha.

It's not her performance which was lacking in any way.

The movie would have fared even less with the actresses you mentioned.

It would have done better with Alia because she would have gotten a better opening. The subject doesn't work so it would have crashed later.

Alia maybe. She could have brought a better opening perhaps. But later on it would have crashed. The subject is not for mass audience. And pitted against a periodic biggie, it really didn't have any chance.

I might be among the minority, but I feel it's only because of Deepika, the movie opened with 4.75 crores & earned around 6 & 7 crores on the next 2 days, despite the subject. If it was someone else, it probably would have done even less. Except only Alia perhaps.

And yup, I think it would have done a little better if DP hadn't visited JNU too. She really shouldn't have done that.

DP was good in the movie , screenplay was faulty. The movie should’ve been story of triumph and they made it depressing movie with shocking end scene .

People are ready to watch any movie , if the story is told well. Chhapaak storytelling was faulty.

Even Bhai level stardom couldn’t have saved this movie . JNU also backfired .
