It mostly coincided. IMO - Shukla’s group broke - Asim/Zariwala/Himanshi broke away and formed their own - and Shukla was left with Shehnaaz. The bully can’t do without a mandli and needed numbers. Paras had figured by then ke the only way to escape bashing + receive favors is to be team Shukla - he saw an opportunity and flipped. Mutually beneficial agreement.

Also, the whole SidNaz fight is super edited with BG's and stuff. It's just another one of their 'playful' fights in the bedroom. They'll go back to being alright in the same episode or the next one.
