Not true. If you watch Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bhumi had an equally important role. In Vicly Donor, Yami had a pretty solid role. In Badhaai Ho, the story didn't revolve around him but Neena Gupta and Surekha Sikhri even won a National Award for Supporting Actress. Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan, Bhumi had a meaty role. In Andhadhun, Tabu had an equally important role. So no, the females in his films are not flowerpots. They have good roles.

If by heroine yean hero's love interest, then you're right. But the FEMALE MAIN CHARACTERS of these movies were mostly not the love interests. And all of them had equally important roles. Isn't that a good thing?🤔

So yeah, Ayushman's movies DO have substantial roles for female main characters, sometimes more attention-grabbing than his own. It doesn't have to be opposite him in the sense they play his love interest. Ayushman is not say, a Salman or an Aamir or an Ajay Devgan to insist on keeping the limelight on himself.

You're right that none of the so-called mainstream actresses would play those roles. They're too age-conscious, too image-conscious, and plainly, too lacking in talent to take up those characters. Then, they complain Bollywood has no good roles for women. What they seem to mean is that they don't have roles where heroine can look young and pretty and sing songs while also getting the lengthier part. In other words, do the same thing they're doing now 🙄 but somehow... different.

Because he's not a Superstar like this forum makes him.
