My take on the story

Brindas parents were childless and manyata gave birth to twins but they took one kid from her and told her that one kid was dead after the birth. Coz when brindas mom told that kid must be grown up now the pandits face had a different expression. Brinda wants to protect dev as she was not under manyatas influence. She knows that dev is innocent. When she will get to know the truth then also she will come between their revenge. I guess to protect dev from her family she will marry him just to make them understand that they are killing her husband not dev.😃

This could be it bc brinda is definitely gonna protect dev as he was not involved in killing her family, it’s his family which should be punished.
