No, Ranveer was always supposed to win the best actor Award. His name is on the trophy for best actor the other one was blank... that was the award Shahid was getting in exchange for his performance. The award show organizers never told Shahid he will win best actor, he was getting Entertainer of the year award, very apt since his film was the highest grossing film of the year by default he entertained the most number of people with his performance this year... Shahid threw a fit when he realized Ranveer got the Best Actor Award. The Award show organizors got pissed that he threw a tantrum they gave both the awards to Ranveer instead.... Shahid's tantrum from the Award show is all over twitter.

Well why didn't the organisers give two of the same? So then Shahid wouldn't have gotten upset?

Again so so so so so happy to see Shahid didn't win and his whole night was spoiled 🤣 and some comments here 😆 Kabir Singh does not deserve anything but chappals. Lets hope all the award shows do the same :) Haven't forgotten when asked about KS behaviour towards Preeti and how casually abusive he was,he had said 'teri behen lagti hain kya' 😊 So classy. So so glad for this!

Second this. He should have walked out of the movie not out of the award show. What great acting was there in the movie other than abusing girls and walking around with swag.
