The thing is I have not watched Panipat. But at the same time I really liked him in Ishaqzaade and Aurangzeb. Did not like him in 2 states at all and didn’t watch anything else.

can’t speak for audience as a whole...I think people are tired of watching the historical genre...so timing may be off.

I don’t think he is a bad actor, he definitely has some range. He needs good writing like some excellent writing...I think he and Aditya Roy Kapoor have some potential but are going down the Abhishek Bachan route. Just plain unlucky.

I am no fan of nepotistic brats but I don’t mind giving a good movie a good chance...imho, it’s not possible that Kartik Aryan is better actor than Arjun Kapoor.l.its luck and frankly he needs excellent movies...he is not the first choice, he needs to revisit his ishaqzaade days, there was a certain thehrav and innocence in him.

he is not an audience choice, but he can mold himself to be a directors choice.
I won’t go to watch a movie becos it has him, but I will give him a chance if the movie is good.

Well I watched the movie....And please believe me when I say he was bad, very very bad! He is supposed to be playing a warrior and you should see how lazily he wielded his sword- and that’s just one example of how he didn’t bother to put in any effort....Better than him were the supporting actors who looked and acted the part...They have all put in such a valiant effort only to be ruined by this lazy uninspiring actor!

Then yes, you have a point. But I am the type who starts hating on the director when actors are like this. I am such a huge fan of Imtiaz Ali and his writing, I have watched every movie and short film he has written. I was so angry with him when I watched Harry met Sejal..such lazy rubbish.

For me the movie overall must click. At the same time of course we can not deny that people go to watch a movie for the actor and not director. But maybe we as new generation should change that then this nepotistic brats will actually work on their craft instead of just doing body building and faltu PR.

for e.g. everyone says Sonam did a great job in Neerja but when you see her other movies you realize it’s not her, it was Ram Madhvani who was director of Neerja - he is a visionary, you must watch his movie Let’s Talk and of course we know that he infamously was the first director and co writer of Taare Zameen Par. Every other performance of her’s has zero layering- that is her star status has become bigger than the role she plays..
sorry I am shifting topic, I feel we waste time with these stars, we are giving them too much credit, at least some of us who want to watch varied cinema must give more credit to the content creators then nepotism will also slowly vanish.

So much typing don’t know if I am making sense😣

Matlab if we have ro give credit for opening day collection it should go to the entire star cast but if we have to blame someday for flop it should be only alia. Wah re BWF teri leela aprampar

You see we can go on on and on this but fact remains and whether you like it or not but alia is a credible actor and star

You still don't get it. You said Vicky had had flops . I mentioned one of the biggest flops of all time aka kalank. Then you said whatever its status she got the opening and that shows her star power. And I'm not making any of the stuff up. All that I said actually happened.

you attributed the open8ng just to her as if everyone else involved with the whole movie was just filler...

After the colossal flop even her team didn't have the guts to do that lol. They just tried to blame the movies failure on everyone else....but her....so terrified her and her team are of being associated with such a movie.

Credibility in Bollywood is transitory my friend. And the illusion is shattering.

And yes audience has rejected Kapoor 100%. The reason his films even make 1 crore or somethi g is because of his family and because he's enmeshed in the Bolly scene so gets some reflected attention aka is able to sort of remain in the news.

She have hit with Randeep Hooda and Vicky Kuasal and they are not big stars. She also gave hit with Shahid and Shahid have horrible box office record. She gave few hits with Varun and Varun was not big stars few years ago when they debuted together.

He was rejected at day one. When I look at his face, I can only think of him as a villain on a movie. Maybe he would’ve be a good villain like Shakti Kapoor or Gulshan Grover instead of a hero. If it’s not for his family, then he would’ve faded long time ago.
