| Telly actors Deepshikha, Sonia Kapoor (Sonia of Remix, Shweta of Piya Ka Ghar) and Kishwar Merchant (Vanshika of Kavyanjali) will feature in a Hindi play, Yeh Tedha Ghar Yeh Medha Ghar.
Described as a zany comedy, it has been produced and directed by Paritossh Painter, of Ideas Entertainment Company.
The cast also includes Ashiesh Roy, Jayesh Thakkar, Amar Manghanani and Balwinder Singh Suri.
Yeh Tedha Ghar Yeh Medha Ghar is the Hindi version of Dinyar Contractor's English play, Madhouse, which was staged in the city about six years ago; it is originally based on Contractor's Gujarati play, Leela Leher. Property pain
"The drama is about the dilemmas of a bungalow owner, who finds no takers for her property.
In desperation, she hires a young man and woman to pose as a married couple staying in the house, in order to attract buyers.
But there are several twists in the tale, including the hired woman's fianc wondering why she is staying in the bungalow with another man," explains Painter, who is also writer-director. Painter says Deepshika, who plays the bungalow owner, is also the sutradhar. "She is doing the play as a friendly gesture," he says. Star attractions
The play is slated to open on December 17 at Sophia Auditorium, Breach Candy, with another show on December 18, at Rangsharda, Bandra Reclamation.
"We begin rehearsals next week," adds Painter, who, along with Nirav Parekh, has staged several plays with telly stars like See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil with Nigaar Z Khan and Pooja Ghai Rawal, Kya Karen Control Nahin Hota, with Gauhar Khan and Paintal, Uncle Samjha Karo with Shweta Kawaatra and Manav Gohil, and Paying Guest with Delnaz Paul. |
