Also he was a very good actor.... Yuva & guru r prime examples.

Comparing him with total useless Arjun is an insult to Abhishek.

(The only common thing between them is the "gainda physique" .... even than Arjun is a more puffed up gainda than Abhi ever was)

If you look ( I saw one that was English subbed, so maybe they were wrong) Kriti is the ONLY ONE that LEARNED Marathi - Kriti is not a native speaker of Marathi. She even mentioned that she liked the sounding of some words.

Which means she worked at it..tried her best for her role..but no one else did- from the main cast I mean.

I've heard that Arjun and Sanjay are going back and forth and speaking Hindi a lot- I am not a speaker but saw comments in reviews of Panipat.

My theory on Arjun is that, at the beginning, he did try his best to be a good actor, he worked hard on his roles and physique- and it showed. He did have success with 2 States and a few more.

Then he fell inlove with Malaika and also he probably realised he's not gonna 'catch up' in rise with RS, RK, Shahid and others and will not have same career path. By Ki &Ka he's realised he'd be a 2nd tier type actor. And I think he really disliked that. He kinda knew that most of his movies will come from his dad and his dad's buddies..or those that will do his dad a favor..

So he kinda let himself go..and let his 'spirit' go.. didn't prep for roles as much..didn't bother with his look as much.. wasn't 'hungry' enough.. so he left space for Ayushman and RR and Vicky to get roles and be praised..

When he saw that others were also advancing well and he was still not getting the roles HE THOUGH he deserves.. then he probably decided subconsciously to just 'breeze through'.. get the job, get the money..and that's it..

Arjun and Sanjay are from Mumbai. They would understand the language and can probably speak a bit too. Kriti is not. She's referred to as a North Indian. So naturally she'd go that extra mile to learn her Marathi dialogues.

I don;t think you get me.

She learned and spoke Marathi- although not a native speaker.

I was told - and seen some reviews- that Arjun and Sanjay speak Hindi a lot in this movies ( or that they change from Maratyhi to Hindi).

So what I meant is that Kriti, although not a native speaker, spoke Marathi yet the guys, although Marathi native speakers, kept going inbetween Hindi and Marathi- I've heard Sanjay even used 'tapori' language ..see reviews.

Appreciate Kriti's hardwork. But there is no call for Sanjay's Afghani character to even speak Marathi. It would make sense to keep most if not all of his dialogue in Hindi. If he slipped into 'tapori' slang that's too lazy of him. They could have easily corrected it during dubbing. Having not seen the film, I can't elaborate too much on Arjun's dialogues. But it's probably a marketing decision to keep his key dialogues in Hindi. As a member of the non-Marathi speaking audience, I'd not be too happy if the characters slipped into Marathi all the time.Or they could add subs if they wanted to add more Marathi dialogues. But Hindi or English?

Then Ashutosh is at fault. He should have kept it linear.

He should have briefed his actors clearly: they either had KS and AK speak Marathi and SD some Afghani.. or have them all speak Hindi (and maybe use Marathi only in some expressions).

Reviews say they keep weaving in and out of languages...And that SD even uses tapori or modern slang in some places. Which is lazy editing or directing -if the actor isn't doing what you brief them or you aren't good enough to catch these.

Would anyone dare to tell Sanjay or Salman that he's making a mistake? But if anybody could, Ashutosh could. They go waaay back to Naam when Sanjay was making a comeback after his deaddiction. Ashutosh was playing a Marathi taxi driver :)

And yes audience has rejected Kapoor 100%. The reason his films even make 1 crore or somethi g is because of his family and because he's enmeshed in the Bolly scene so gets some reflected attention aka is able to sort of remain in the news.

Raazi s opening day collection was close to 10 crore more than likes of piku,NH10 etc

@bold: 1: Well, they should !

I am getting fed up with any star acting all high and mighty! Seriously?? accept the director's vision or don;t freaking do the movie.

It's insulting to everyone- in the end- they become superstars BECAUSE of SOME good directors and SOME good movies.. not just because their acting or 'charm'.

@bold2; see, this is why I'm saying Ashutosh lost the plot : erred a lot, had no clear-cut brief to actors..or let them do what they wanted..or tried work with one take or whatever. Editing (I hear) is also sloppy in parts.

Dunno what he did but THE MOVIE has suffered because of these choices- and because of casting AK who hasn't had a hit since 2014.

How can you plan a successful movie with AK? How can you not push them to do more ESPECIALLY if you are AG, known for doing good emotional and battle scenes?
