Has the audience rejected Arjun Kapoor?

I have not seen Panipat so I cannot judge his performance.

If he was good in it, then by all means..thats a relief since he is still a working actor who is still getting lots of opportunities.

But for someone like Arjun..who used to rake in 6-7 cr. on the first day is now raking in 3-4 cr. and that too for a period driven film with a pretty well known director despite his bad record.

Everytime he racked 6-7 or more, he had actually popular actresses with him. So let's give credit to the likes of Kareena, Shraddha, Alia and pre falldown Sonakshi Sinha.

sure sure. also genre may play a role.

He only bought in about 2 cr on opening day for indias most wanted, a recent film. But for auranzeb, almost 4 cr and ishaqzaade 5 cr.-at this time he was new.

so based on his trend, his stardom level has not risen. He has not shown any improvement, and the audience seems disinterested

But this time he had Kriti and she is doing exceptionally well at Box office. Iska matlab his worth is now of 1 to 2 crore opening ?

Kriti ne aisa kiya exceptionally well kiya hai? Did she gave hit with a flop actor? Did she gave hit on her own? Does her inclusion means movies get bigger opening? Not really. She is having a good year on personal level, but she hasn't really stamp her box office credentials. Insta mai caption mai press wali ko paise khilake, new box office queen likhne se koi box office queen nahi banta.

That being said, Arjun ki aukaat hai 1 crores, IMW ne uski real aukat dikha di.

No need to drag Kriti. Did Alia give a hit with any flop actor? Noooo she gets top stars and vets to take the fall for her.

And yes audience has rejected Kapoor 100%. The reason his films even make 1 crore or somethi g is because of his family and because he's enmeshed in the Bolly scene so gets some reflected attention aka is able to sort of remain in the news.

I think the genre matters too.

When he does romcoms he's bearable as actor and the movies have more of a general 'fanbase'- people will go see a romcom whether is x,y, or z - for the entertainment factor.

But I'd say India's Most Wanted showed AK that he should stay within romcom genre or risk failure.

Besides, he's being too lazy in his acting. Not sure if you guys watch promos but at Panipat promos he already gave the impression he kinda 'breezed through' the process:

-only being glad he learned to ride horses whilst getting paid for it;

-bemoaning his head being shaved and comparing it with RS's head shaving like saying 'look I shaved my head so I put in as much as RS' - like shaving the head was THE most important thing to do !!;

-then he was telling he didn't bother with accent and when he needed a word they all ( meaning him and Sanjay )went to Kriti- so that's also lazy;

He generally gave the impression that he was just annoyed with head, annoyed with having to go to outdoor shopots- he even mentions that he 'only read script and didn't realise how hard it's to shoot these scenes outdoors'. I mean, duuhhh...

I feel ever since he got involved with malaika he's half-assed about this. Sorry but he's trying to get money for half-assed performances and it shows how bad he can get.

Anyone that's as hyped, sustained, protected by fraternity.. and with as many connections as he has.. can get SOME collections from ROMCOMS because there the ENTERTAINMENT factor, the SUBJECT and the JOKES ' execution/style matter - you can pretty much replace any actor in a romcom and still get some revenue. Of course ..if the scenes are really good, or the subject/screenplay is good..the music and such is good..then a better actor can also get much more revenue.

But in certain subjects, like historicals, drama, thriller.. you need the extra quality to bring in the audiences.. to make them BELIEVE in you. And in that AK falters.

He's the Abhishek Bachchan of this generation.

Arjun meant that all of them except Kriti knew Marathi. So they used Kriti as a sort of litmus test to check whether the Marathi dialogues are understandable to the non-Marathi audience.
