Thats okay, we cannot expect people to fully understand what anxiety is and how it can actually cripple people. Its hard to describe something which isnt tangibly seen. I hope people were more understanding.

Really Sorry, don’t mean to be rude, but I’m impatient and cannot read such long posts, but panic attacks is a problem in the mind of the person, they are worrying about something which is non existent and not happened at all.

Mindfulness helps overcome the problem and Aarti should have been aware of it.

Panic attacks can be isolate or part of a generalized anxiety disorder which people are diagnosed with and some are prescribed medicines for. It is not something that someone can easily switch off from all of a sudden. It needs to be managed by a professional.

Thanks TM for writing this post. People in real life do go through it and for it to be questioned or mocked on SM and forums is something completely against what our society is slowly coming to terms with and accepting.

Personally I don’t believe Sana’s reaction to Himanshi was a panic attack, I believe she was overreacting/over-acting. Her reaction to Arti speaks volumes as she would’ve been more sensitive to her.

Even yesterday when Arti was crying ‘mama’ in the corner I thought it was acting, however after her conversation with Shukla, her reaction then I thought was genuine and I thought she needed an inhaler as I wasn’t sure if she’s asthmatic or not, yes panic attacks are not a joke, I’ve experienced this in the past. It’s also a cause of depression which is something she also deals with.

I was going to post a similar post. Yes what Sana had was not a panic attack, it was kind of a temper tantrum.

Unfortunately many people do not understand how mental issues can affect lives.

I don't blame Sana as the way she has been pampered in BB, she would think that whatever she does is beyond reproach. Ah the irony when she says Asim is getting overconfident.

Anyways felt bad for Aarti. Deep down she seems a nice person and is happy for others. Hope she comes out a stronger person after BB. Seems she has suffered terrible personal tragedy too.

Very well written! Wish people were more considerate in the house as well as outside.

It was appalling the lack of sympathy they showed, absolutely appalling. Especially from Shukla and Shehnaz.

I don’t think Shehnaz is autistic. Her breakdown was in the form of a tantrum that could be due to a mild ADHD type of disorder or other reasons but whatever the origins, the fact is, housemates felt for her and were disturbed, empathising with her. Arti was there comforting her from the beginning. It’s so awful that Shehnaz behaved the way she did yesterday.

Hi Priya you should definitely read up on it a bit more. No offence taken, but it’s not at all what you think it is.

It’s not about worrying about something- but sometimes something just triggers your brain and this weird fear creeps in and you can’t shake it off no matter how much you try( no kind of mindfulness helps) - you can’t breathe, you feel you can’t live and don’t know what to do. It’s a feeling of utter disdain, pain and it’s so defeating in itself.

Depression and anxiety don’t get cured with mindfulness I wish they did. They take years of medicines, therapy, meditation, breathing excersies and even then you don’t know when they will make a come back.
But also this doesn’t mean a person needs to stop living their life or experiencing things at all. Sooner or later you just to live with it while fighting it at the same time! It takes some kind of bravery to let people see this so openly, and I support Arti for that.
