I think we as the audience, will happily accept him holding the baby anyway. I want his memory to return but that will mean the track will be over very quickly and then what?

Before his memory returns, he needs to suspect Komolika and realize that he and Prerna have had a romantic relationship that needs to be continued.

Yeah it's good that they're going slow but I think after the precap.... prerna will have doubt on sona 👍🏼
