well I watched from halfway that scene but I think that was for NB pushing mini to go and follow her dreams. She had not yet sent the conformation mail I think yesterday. There was no other than NB who would have pushed her to follow her career.

Gosh, the way he looks at Minnie after telling her that Babita loves her so much... as if a dam burst inside him and he too wanted to tell her how much he loved her. Then asks her to look at him, so that he could see her emotions and reactions as he uttered the next few words.

Reminded me so much of my father.

You know that scene was powerful for me to watch for many reasons.

Beeji and Dadu were getting richer, were solvent and independent, yet there's no one to look after them except friends.

NB has just lost everything, would miss Minnie a lot too as her granddaughter but still would encourage her to chase her dreams. She is truly HS' mother and in that moment I felt the connect of 3 generations: NB-HS-Minnie and their combined legacy. The three of them have so much in common. ❤️ What's in a name, really?

You know NB also had dreams from the shop. Babita was really selfish as to not think of her while selling it off. If she thinks she can return it off by just returning nbs investment then she is so wrong. NB had worked so hard for it. It's a shame she wasn't consulted also. For all her talk about i want to now live for only my husband and do his elders ki seva babita has really not given importance to NB as hs mother

NB was so proud of earning money from the shop and she was always there to overlook matters. She will truly feel pinched about losing the shop like this. Iss se zyada toh workers se hi discussion ya heads up de diya jata hai.

The way she had to leave the shop.... was just... That shot of her sitting all alone in the shop looking at what could have been is so so sad.

Yep, his aakhri umeed is gone. It's different when a loved one passes away because you know that they can't come back, but Minnie is very much alive but so far from him. I completely agree that he's just going to 'survive'. If he wanted to, he could have emotionally blackmailed Minnie into staying and methinks he may have even succeeded. But he won't because he loves her as his child. I once again remembered the scene where he was telling her how fathers want their daughters to do better than them. He knows that he can never give her that kind of life or opportunity with his modest income and that she deserves this chance.

I just got thinking and don't take this the wrong way... When HS was talking about the kaunse janam ki preet, bandhan, etc... They finally showed us what soulmate means.

You're absolutely right about the soulmate bit! These two were and will always be each other's saving grace. No matter how short their journey together may have been, they built a world with each other where nobody else will ever be able to reach.

Even with all the mess in their lives, the sanctity of this bond will live on.

I watched the first 3 episodes after seeing Aniruddh's tweet. It's a nice show but it's not something that I will become overly attached to like I did with PB.

The first 17 episodes of PB were nothing to write home about. Then it changed with the entry of HS and really picked up just before the divorce track.

I don't know what MDKD will be like but I don't want to compare. I want some light but meaningful entertainment. This show made me cry so much in this past few months. It has also spoiled me in terms of quality of writing and performances, but especially the screenplay which is not usually up to this standard on ITV.

I was very upset when I realized that my dream of hearing her call him bapu/dad/papa would never be fulfilled but in today's scene I almost felt as if the CVs were responding to this yearning that many fans like me had by pointing out that they were even beyond that. What they share is so special that it can't be limited to being called just a father-daughter bond. It is well and truly above all that.

I got that from today's scene too.

Babita may need the comforts of labels and tags to live her life but Minnie and HS don't need that. What they have goes beyond the norms of what society has established for them. Even the labeling of step-father / daughter or father / daughter isn't enough because they are beyond that. Unlike others, they just don't need labels. They have each other's love and support, that's all that matters.

Kuch rishte zindagi mein benaam reh jaate hai par iska matlab yeh nayi ki uss mein koi gandagi hai. Rather, iss benaami mein hi ek alag khoobsurati hoti hai.
