Some people are strong on the face but lack internal courage. Babita is weak but she displayed great resilience in lot of matters. It’s surprising.

Meeta was pretty weak internally. Otherwise, she would have left Ashok as soon as she found out about his past, or even soon after. 7 years she stayed with him knowing full well about him having a wife and a daughter in India. I don't fault Meeta because it wasn't Meeta who was married, it was Ashok, so it was Ashok's responsibility to rectify his mistakes, come clean to Babita and ask for a divorce in a civil manner. However, Meeta staying with Ashok for 7 years after knowing everything, Idk I just cannot fathom that. Why did it take them 7 years to come clean about their affairs?

Babita showed immense resilience during and post divorce. I, as a viewer myself was surprised seeing that esp the kind of person Babita was shown to be. However, NB was right, Babita mein bahut sahas hai. It might seem like she is weak in the outside, but she has a lot of courage internally. She was ready to leave the haveli and HS too after Imarti track. Thats courage.

Even with their business, she was adamant about having a strong role. Can't exactly remember if she got it now though. Initially, she may not have had the courage, but eventually she did. After all, didn't she leave for London after Ashok mistreated her?

She's very damaged but that's because she doesn't have a proper emotional support system like Babita does. Meeta's parents are there, but they got involved after so many years. When she needed them the most, they failed to be there with her and she just ended up falling in bad company.

With the right company and the right kind of support, I can see Meeta being incredibly strong and setting herself up as an example to others too.

Meeta stood up to lovely, Ashok so many times. Her past was even more heartbreaking than babita's. It's understandable that she wanted an emotional support, and now that Ashok filled a void in her life it was hard for her to let go (and apparently Ashok in London wasn't what we saw in patiala) . And that makes her a normal person, not weak. Her character was still very much underutilized. And I have to make a list of favorite characters on the show meeta would find a place above Poonam, they should have kept meeta. Poonam didn't do much for me although she looked like another copy of meeta.

Babita had Minnie. Meeta had no one. Also her traumatic past especially during teenage and early adult life messed her up to a great extent. And I've seen people like her. When parents aren't emotionally available during teenage it's easy to make mistakes. Meeta isn't weak, she's normal. It would take an exceptionally strong persona to leave someone when no one else in world is yours (even if the person is abusive).

Because babita was left with no choice ashok decided to leave her and come with mita to live in the same house. So She had to leave. Where was it her decicion. Even the decicion of divorce was taken by ashok. Did babita initiate it no. With babita it was like she was put in a situation and she had to react to it. Even the decicion of being financially stable was because she needed it majbori thi uski otherwise she now happy again being financially dependant on HS.

With mita it was different. The initiation of divorce had to come from her side. ashok had not initiated it as in case of babita. She still had her parents to go back to and think on the matter.

Also babita had minis undying support which mita dint have. She had come too far and risked everything in loving ashok and wanting him as her husband she dint want to give it up without a fight

See I liked Meeta's character too. She wasn't a bad person. She had a traumatic teenage years and I fully understand where she was coming from too. I have seen people like her too, esp. here in the US, few girls I knew in high school were pregnant at the age of 15-16, and were teenage moms. So, I understand her emotional trauma... Especially her being from an Indian family, must have been really bad, which is why I don't fault Meeta. However, I still can't fathom why it took them 7 years to come clean about their affair? And why Meeta wasn't able to let go of Ashok? 7 years is a long time. Ok fine Ashok was selfish and a coward, why was Meeta keen on keeping up this affair when we know she was a good-hearted person? She was emotionally weak, and didn't think she could do without Ashok. I do agree with Babita when she said that Meeta must have really loved Ashok for her to endure everything and despite everything, still not able to let go of him. Love makes you weak sometimes I guess, like in the case of Imarti.

Also she expressed shock when Ashok first showed abusive tendency. She Ashok wasn't abusive with her in London, and god knows what lies Ashok might have told her about babita. Anyways no doubt she chose her own comfort over morals. But then for anyone in her position it will take some great strength to choose morals over own comfort. That's why I called her normal.

And babita had a solid support system and that was a huge advantage over meeta. Initially Minnie then Hanuman, lala, naeem bi.... If only one of these characters didn't come in her life (esp Minnie and Hanuman) I doubt babita would be where she's today. As much as I despise current Minnie, she was a gem in initial story.

Agreed. Meeta didn't have a solid support system. Ashok stood by her and was her only emotional support. She fell in love and that was it, she couldn't really let go of Ashok despite knowing everything. She couldn't see a life worth living without him, which is so sad considering how Ashok turned out to be at the end. Poor Meeta.

Talking about all this, it feels like this is a completely different show I am watching right now. Pre 180 episodes of PB were just something else. The story now has become unbearable. What a shame!
