Govinda to romance Katrina

Actor-MP's comeback film with Salman Khan will also star Lara Dutta

Director, David Dhawan has planned a unique comeback for Govinda in Salman Khan's home production. The director is going to cast Katrina Kaif opposite the comedian for his yet-to-be-titled film. Produced by Sohail Khan, the film will also star Salman Khan. "It's too early to talk about the project. Salman and Govinda will act in my film, and I am excited about that," says director David Dhawan. The buzz is that, the director has signed Lara Dutta opposite Salman Khan. "I think you know more than I do about my film," he laughs. Everyone in the industry expected Katrina to be cast opposite Salman because of their off-screen chemistry, but this bit of information surprised all. A close associate of David Dhawan confirmed the news, saying, "Sohail has signed Lara and Katrina for the film. It's going to be one of the most hilarious films with two of our best actors and their brilliant comic timing."

Our source reveals that, it was actually Salman's idea to cast Katrina opposite Govinda. Both actors share a great camaraderie which Govinda admitted when he was spotted at the premiere of Kyon Ki. "Salman is a very close friend of mine and I am glad that we are working together in a film; and incidentally it's his home production," says a visibly excited Govinda. When Salman was asked about the cast, he refused to comment. "Film is a director's medium and Davidji would be the right person to answer all your queries," is all Salman says.

We tried to get in touch with Katrina for her version, but she too refused to comment. "Please wait for an official announcement," she says. Incidentally, after working on Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar, the actress has been signed on by RGV once again for Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay. Katrina will play the character of Jaya Bachchan from the 1976 original.
