If Salman Khan already debuted in Rekha's film in the earlier year then certainly in no way he could claim that debut award for himself. Well if any other actors debuted on the following year, then they could show objection for it if they wanted to.

Aamir Khan ALSO had his DEBUT movie as an ADULT in film HOLI with a FULL FLEDGED ROLE (unlike salman's short cameo in BHTA) , but STILL Aamir got best debut for QAYAMAT SE QAYAMAT TAK which was his SECOND film as an ADULT LEAD. Infect was his THIRD release if we count his yaadon ki baraat as a childstar, than QSQT was his 3rd release.

His filmfare winning for this movie still looks such a mystery, whether he was really given that award or not!

Salman didn't win that award. His first filmfare was for KKHH.

Because as far as I know Sallu wasn't given the award at that time, maybe they have given later on, hence added now in his cv.

FACT: Salman Khan did NOT receive a Filmfare Best Debut Award.

At the 35th Filmfare Awards ceremony held in 1990, Bhagyashree and Sooraj Barjatya won Best Debut awards. These 2 awards were introduced the previous year when Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla won them. As it was still a brand new category, Filmfare was quite open with the criteria in that the specific discipline (acting, directing) wasn't set in stone. I believe Salman was quite upset he didn't win. Filmfare's reasoning was probably that he had debuted in 1988 with Biwi Ho To Aisi. This conflicts with giving Aamir the award because he too had an earlier release (Holi, 1984) however, those days there was no IMDb nor Wikipedia, so the few judges may not have known about his previous work. Even Juhi had acted in Sultanat in 1986.
