I don't know, she is kind of holding it not against him per se but the image she had of him being her perfect hero. The fact that he didn't live up to it and disappointed her is what bothers her but maybe she doesn't realize it.
Self preservation is a strong instinct indeed, especially when you have been hurt the way these too have. Even if they take baby steps towards each other, they will get there one day. I want them to do it for each other, not for Babita, or Ashok, or log kya kahenge.
See, I consider the phrase “holding it against” to be different from being disappointed by someone.
Yes, HS has disappointed her off late with his neglect. The image of a hero who could handle everything has taken a hit.
But I still never see a grudge in her eyes towards him. All I see is yearning.....it’s all vulnerability.
They have to learn to accept each other as flawed people who can falter.
But HS definitely needs to realize that a child can’t be neglected like this even if he is vulnerable himself.
