Why Narasimha Reddy is not a big hit like Bahubali?

Its so much better than Bahubali.

excel didn't promote it well, and also released it with War, which was stupid.

KGF-2 also will feel the dent because of Dabanng3.

Excel isn't smart like Dharma.

It doesn't have Rajamouli. He is the main factor for Baahubali.

Many scenes were copied from Bahubali-the head cut scene is 1 example.

Excel movies did promote Sye Raa well. Sye Raa team did every interview and promotion that Prabhas and Team did for Saaho with exceptions of Kapil Sharma and Raveena Tandon shows.

Sye Raa is underperforming in the Telugu states too. The recovery is about 40% WW as opposed to the inflated numbers that are being put out in some media sites close to the makers of SYe Raa.

The reason why Sye Raa is underperforming is largely because there are/have been just quite a few films set in the pre-independence British era with theme being patriotic. As times goes on, you will see diminishing success of such movies.

I am guessing Rajamouli could not have saved the film. And I am somewhat skeptical of #RRR movie directed by Rajamouli which will come out next year, having the same patriotic theme. I think it will do better than #Sye Raa but not much more and definitely less than Bahubali.

And finally, Bahubali worked because of Rajamouli-Prabhas-Rana and also other charismatic actors and technicians.

Baahubali was fantasy fiction. Fantasy fiction gives a lot of creative freedom to suspend disbelief and indulge in fantastical sequences. Historical fiction is supposed to be rooted in reality. When you address historic fiction with the liberties of fantasy fiction you lose the impact.

Another factor is that Baahubali was relatively fresh and innovative. Not that fantasy fiction was never done before, but it had never been done on this grand scale and finesse. But people are trying to emulate the Baahubali success formula rather than be original. People get bored of the same formulaic approach.
