A lot of celebs do. Deepika doesn't own mental illness in some way that she can put it on sale. She is raising funds and at the same time making sure the discussion around mental illness stays relevant. Harr cheez mein burai dhundna zaroori hai kya.

Charity ke liye he to thik he that's good......tweet ka wordings should have been better...last time also there was a goof up where the celebrated views or something

From Bill Gates to Warren Buffet To Leonardo .. everyone has done this. Some sell one on one time with them and some sell clothes to raise funds. MET gala that all of you see is one such event.

Even regular folks here sell clothes during Holiday Season to raise funds for donations for needy.

I genuinely thought people here understood fundraising and how it worked but guess not. The level of ignorance is baffling. I’ve done similar fundraising for my own and I have always been praised for it .

Point is how does such publicity help a star? Public doesn't care about such things while going to watch their movie, that works on is own merit

That tweet looks like it promoting herself using depression , she can use ME TOO for her own benefits openly then it's not a surprise if she is using depression for the same purpose.

@bold: Wow, single handedly looking down on all the people who sell their old clothes or donate them for charity. There are drives/campaigns asking people to donate stuff which they don't wear anymore so that it can be used by someone in need. Hygiene issues, really?

OT: it's been happening since ages, people organise fundraisers, galas, dinners etc and then contribute to charities (at least that's what is told) so I don't see what the fuss is about.

It's a win-win situation. She gets publicity, few will get stunning dresses and the needy will get help.

Who cares about intentions? Deed and end matters.

It's a great initiative.
