I feel dt was mostly because she somewhere finds Raima responsible for whatever Rohit went through all these years. Though it was mostly Raima's mother's doing but still that love landed her son in circle of loneliness for a long time and changed him.

Also Veena probably likes Sona a lot more suitable for Rohit coz she unlike Raima has a calming effect on Rohit and is more sensible.

@ bold, I think that is more of a reason for her rooting for Sonakshi.

I think that was because Raima is a Christian. The makers wanted to add that added spice of cultural difference. I felt Veena was also not very comfortable with the handshake and they closed into that shot too. So I am assuming it did have some weight may be..

The CVs were confused about Raima initially I guess 😂😂😂 She is bengali(region) but a christian(religion) that is why Rohit had gone to the church to light the candle and in the hospital on her birthday also a picture of Mother Mary was there kept on the side table and her mother lighted the candles before it. Tanushree aunty also no more says Dugga dugga......😂😂😂......Conversion at convenience. LOL

Raima is not a Christian..she simply loves going to church and believes in Mother Mary

Many Bengalis having Common Surname like Roy, Sengupta are Christians. May be Raima's Mom is Bengali Hindu and Raima's Dad is Bengali Christian

“Dugga dugga” & Sengupta surname would normally mean Bengali Hindu. Qt a few Hindus visit churches, esp those who studied in convent or missionary schools/ colleges. Also, visiting other religions’ place of worship is not forbidden in Hinduism.

However it is surprising that Dugga aunty doesn’t sport a bindi - most traditional Hindu Bengali married women wear prominent bindis. Initially I thought she was a widow, until suddenly there were references to a dad who is curiously missing in action!
