However it is surprising that Dugga aunty doesnât sport a bindi - most traditional Hindu Bengali married women wear prominent bindis. Initially I thought she was a widow, until suddenly there were references to a dad who is curiously missing in action!
Agreed @ bold. Studied in Saint Mary's Convent my self so also agree that we do go to church, chapels, and cathedrals.
I did not mean to say anything on religious aspect on a personal level but what I was trying to point out was more on the lines of how in the entertainment industry every symbol is used to generalize things. Like married ladies wearing mangal sutra...Many sections of hindu married women wear mangalsutra only as an ornament or don't wear it at all. Karwa Chauth = channni, chand and husband breaking fast again not true for the entire Hindu community but successfully serves the purpose of driving the point through. I hope my post on Raima being Christian did not come across as some kind of religious snobbism.
So far Raima being Christians goes I can absolutely be wrong in my assumption. Again Tanushree aunty not wearing bindi appears to a route of convenience that the makers have taken zaroorat pari to she will be a widow or else papa will be brought in..... latter being the case as of now. who knows Sonakshi and Raima have the same father also.
