I have literally had this conversation with American women, albeit older, that it’s a man’s world out there and if she doesn’t defer to his needs he will leave her. Ie no man will put up with a woman with a spine. It’s bs but it’s what these older and some younger generation women are taught.

You see this is shows more often where middle-aged housewives make up the majority of the ratings audience because that’s what appeals to them. The love the idea of the transformative power of love. Or the good girl reforms the bad boy trope.

I think different countries have different problems - because their history and circumstances are different. Like for example, there must be a reason why a misogynist like Trump is the president of America and may get a second term ..... but at the same time I feel like this public shaming and constant forgiving drama is every single series currently popular on star plus. Why is this so popular and acceptable? I’m sure none of you guys have the answer but it’s bloody baffling.

Thanks for telling something I already knew - that I have freedoms of choice over what u watch ... and also over what I comment.

You can bash ITV all you want. Even I do that. But in this post you clearly brought all the women in India and said that they live in this reality. Is that fair? You're gonna judge a country and its people by the fictional shows they watch👏

Apparently, some people are scared that poor Rohit will now have to spend inordinate amounts of time manaoing Sona and apologizing to her. Poor guy did no wrong it seems.

And ya, if you criticize Rohit, you are a Sonakshi fan. Coz it cannot be any other way. You cannot dislike both characters🤣. If only people knew the amount of flak Sonakshi's character draws on this forum, humne kitna criticize kiya hai usko, for her stupidity.🤣

I am a pure ronakshi fan so it means i love both Rohit & Sonakshi equally. But now if any of them starts behaving childish and immature we should share our opinions. And if after all this Rohit goes to Raima leaving Sonakshi then he will be called a niggard or an ungenerous person who used Sona for his own selfish motive. I dont feel its wrong to unsupport our favourite characters if they are wrongdoing. We cannot be so much in love that we will forget the different between right and wrong isnt it ! 🤔

You really need to read posts carefully before writing these comments. Firstly the title had a MAYBE in it and then I go in to say that if they keep showing this stuff I will need to start believing x,y,z. Any generalisations you find are in your reading rather than in writing. But yes please do clap for yourself.

Girl, atleast when you write something like this, own up to your words. How funny! You haven't made any generalizations?

After this if Sona just keeps talking to Rohit and goes begging to make him listen to reason or forgives the sippys easily then I will really start believing that these Indian serials are a true reflection of what happens. That in reality this is all a woman can aspire to - that a man would deign to love her at his choice and to the extent he wants to and when he wants to..,.

@ Bold:Can you please enlighten us how you weren't making any generalizations here? And if some x,y,z happens in a freakin' fictional show you would believe that all this happens in reality?🤣Yeah sure.

You really can't judge women of one whole country based on a show. Yes you haven't yet generalised.......but you will generalise it if this keeps happening in the show.

First of all TV shows are not reflections of the real society. They are just stories that made for purpose of entertainment and den to attract audience they use many used techniques and nuances. Not just Indian shows......even popular shows in other languages exaggerated or mould things in the way that suits their storytelling.

Secondly about women being submissive and acting as a punch bag.....in reality happens world over......not just in India. The thing is it happens everywhere but even that doesn't represent women in any country in general.

Reel doesn't represent real !!!! Yes you can find a very few exceptions ........dt too mostly in movies.
