First of all, a big hug for writing this one🤗...Secondly kaan pakad kar maafi for being so late...i feel the scenes you have highlighted hold the same importance in any girl's life as they do in Mish's life.......so be ready for long replysmiley36smiley36...my replies in green😳

Very rarely I make posts like these, but today just couldn't stop myself from writing this. Actually wanted to write this on weekends, but was too lazy to write, but thank god today I got one more point to add to my post.

I thought of making a seperate post for this wonderful human being who is actually goals in every sense, husband goals, father goals, human being goals. I remember once Mishti asked him playfully"aapko sab kaise pata chal jaata hai " and bade Papa said "meri teesri aankh hai" that was said in a fun way but it actually signifies the thinking and understanding capacity of this man, he always analysis the situation from all angles, just because he loves mishti or kuhu or rajshri or any other member of the family, that dosent mean he will favour that person, he looks at things with a 3D lense not a 2D one, not at all a biased lense which has a backdrop of some assumptions and presumptions , always asking the right questions , having the patience to hear the answers and taking his own time to make the decisions. There are some scenes which never really were the highlights of the episode, but for me they were better than the actual highlights of the episode.

I absolutely love their camaraderie in that holi scene😃

Going down the memory lane with Bade Papa:

"Lekin ek Ghar Ko maa Laxmi aur maa Saraswati , dono ki zarurat hoti hai"

There was a little jugalbandi between Varsha and badi maa regarding regarding who is better, symbolising kuhu and Mishti in the conversation, but it was bade Papa who interrupted and said we need both in the family thereby meaning we can't sacrifice one for the other. Just like universe needs Laxmi( wealth) and Saraswati ( knowledge) to move forward , in the same way, If we need kuhu, we need Mishti as well and vice versa, the family is incomplete without the two, and so the universe.

This is one of my favourite scenes which set the tone for future. While both Varsha and BM stating their opinion but it was BP who shared his wisdom with them and us. I was little skeptical about Mish's treatment in the house but BP gave that much needed assurance that he will never fail his daughter.👏👏

"Maa baap Apne bacchho ko pinjra nahi, pankh dete hai"

Another significant symbolism here, this was the time when mishti demanded courtship , but rajshri wasn't agreeing, she feared naman those days and felt RVs will not agree to the courtship condition , bade Papa then asks Mishti if she really wants to give up, even after mish says yes she is ready to give up her courtship condition, bade Papa makes her understand how right she is and shouldn't fear, also advices rajshri to support her daughter, he didn't agree to rajshri's demands just because she was his wife, and was under stress.

here he made Mish understand that if you are convinced about something ,don't pay heed towards anybody...How much I adored BP in this scene where i was absolutely sure that BM will emotionally blackmail Mish for letting go of her condition...BP has not only given her wings but made sure she flies👏👏

"Kabhi kabhi humeim samajh nahi aata konsi baat sahi hai, konsi baat galat hai Lekin jab kabhi aisa Lage, tab na logon ki sunni chahie na duniya ki, sirf apne dil ki sunni chahie, kyunki Dil hamesha sach kehta hai"

This was when mishti broke the gordhana and the same night kuhu in a confused state asks bade Papa, why is everyone against Mishti if she is right?, The above lines were answer to kuhu's question, notice carefully here, he says "sirf apne dil ki" he dosent say apne maa baap ki apne parivaar ki or anything, sirf "apne dil" ki , teaching them that your answer is within you, if your mind has raised a question, search the answer within your heart, it will answer you back, spend some "alone" time with yourself to find it. However good or bad you are, your conscience self always speaks the truth..Because dil ki voice is soul ki voice, soul will always give you the right answer. No wonder mishti and kuhu always follow their heart, kuhu kuch zyada hi literally leti hai, vo baat alag hai !

I feels Mish usually follows his philosphy of spending some alone time and searching for answers. But poor girl faltered this time so he was right there to guide her. Never he said he will take the decision and make things easier for her. He always makes sure he is right beside her. He is like that light which does not walk the path for you but be your guide to help you walk⭐️

"Mishti un anath bachho ke liye gayi hai, hamare jhagde un baccho se zyada zaruri toh nahi ho sakte na"

This was when mishti wanted to go to champaner along with Abir but badima refused saying us ladke se ab koi rishta nahi rakhna, bade papa again takes the right stand, work is above everything, more than that we should keep our personal biases aside when it comes to helping the needy, it's nice to have emotions but very necessary to also know when to control your emotions, it's not at all an easy task to forget your differences and do something for people you don't even know. True sign of a good human being here.

and the stark difference between Meeku and Him

"Jahan par log aapse yeh umeed rakhe ki aap hamesha sar jhuka ke rakhenge, vaha se sar uthakar laut Jaana hi behtar hota hai"

Never compromise on your self respect, self respect is definitely above your love, this he said to mishti when people were blaming her for the party date mismatch , no wonder bade papa never wanted kuhu to enter that kabootarkhaana, he can easily sense the kind of people out there, and that's why he was skeptical about kuhu going there, he even asked right questions to kuhu and Kunal both, but sadly had to give in for family's and kuhu's happiness , and no wonder, bade Papa though believed mishti but was still upset with her for the haldi fiasco, not because she was rude with her family but because she, to some extent, compromised on her self respect in the process.....again when there was a chance , he asked the right questions to Abir and mishti as well, this time much more satisfied with the answers. More than love, he wants that people respect his daughters for what they are, and his daughters respect themselves too. He even described Meenu as "vo mausam jo Roz badalte hain, uspe bharosa nahi kiya jaata" ..lol.

I want to compare this one with the previous point. In the previous case, he was more concerned with the greater good for the orphaned children rather than his petty feud with Meenakshi. Meenakshi had an altercation directly with him. But he did not let that become his ego and supported Mish. While in the second case,Mish was asked to apologise publicly. He not only stopped her from apologising but also give two hoots to Meenu. I remeber his dialogue "koi bhi baat beti ke samman se badi nahi hoti"👏👏.

Also, giving the audience an important lesson when to let go off the things and when to hold your grounds.

"Jab hum ghar ki chokhat ke bahar jaaye, toh hamare mann ek hone chahie"

This is the most significant thing for a family to be together, whatever the differences are, should stay internally within the family and shouldn't go outside, because there are people out there like meenakshi rajvansh who are waiting for that one chance to play the game, during this entire shaadi fiasco, she tried her best to break the maheshwaris firstly by using kuhu ,when she learns from Kunal that kuhu hates Mishti, her planning started in full speed. When she sensed Mishti feels indebted to mahs, she used her against mahs, and she would have been successful too agar neend mein bhi hoshiyar beta jaagta nahi....that's why when representing the family in the outside world, behaving as a strong unit is very important.

👏👏👏..I love this scene...How compassionate and understanding he is, he is aware that Varsha n jas will not be happy with his descision for mishbir union.....rather ignoring them, he tried to make them realise how this is the right thing to do...I cannot fathom such conversation in RV house...

We have always seen bade Papa stand for the right, giving befitting answers to Meenu, and treating everyone with love and respect ,whether it's for kuhu or Mishti, he was never in the foreground but always in the background supporting everyone in the family, just like how our backbone supports our body, Maheshwaris without bade Papa would have been a scattered family, a family Jahan koi "asli saval karta nahi , Jahan koi asli jawab deta nahi, Jahan koi asli baat karta nahi" ...just like the RV parivaar.

The biggest takeaways from bade Papa are to concentrate on being a good human being rather than being a good father, mother, daughter etc, always analyse the situation from all perspectives, not just from the perspective of the person you love, and always try asking right questions, because asking only right questions will help you to find right answers and I really appreciate such characters like BP, very rarely you find them on ITV.

Abir calls Mishti badi ma ki parchayi, though Abir has his own set of flaws, but he is so much like bade papa, and definitely has a lot of potential to be bade papa's parchayi !!

So if you have managed to read this, thank you so much for your time, I would definitely like to read your thoughts on this.

I just love how through characters like BP and BM the show reminds us that relationships extend beyond just the romantic ones. Fathers like BP are not only rare in ITV but they are rare in real life too. The way he sees life, gives everyone a chance to express himself, gives his daughter the freedom to make her own choices and has raised an empowered daughter is commendable. Not to mention his equation with his wife BM is also so endearing. I have never seen him verbally absuing his wife which is so common in ITV rather they have such a health and pure relationship. Where hsi wife goes wrong such as courtship track and the party date mix-up track he gently chides her point of view but he doesn't get angry or raise his voice. He also reads people really well as his observations about Kunal, Abir and BB have been spot on.

What I love the most is his bond with Mishti though. He adores his daughter so much and it really shows through both his actions and his gestures. I still remember how at holi time Mish was upset due to Naman's wrong doings and she went like 'My papa' did this and BP got so hurt that "Agar woh aap kay papa hain toh main aap ka kon hun?" he then goes on to explain how hw has been there for hr in all her lives vital moments reinforcing that even though they might not be bonded by blood but Mishti is still his daugther . It was his words that gave Mish the confidence to break the ristha with Kunal as he reassured her that he would always support her come what may. The way he called out Kunal and BB 's hypocrisy during the party fiasco was also top notch. He did gave a subtle threat to Kunal "Baat jab beti par ahayay toh Baap ko bura lag ta hain".

Uru all the lines and moments you have mentioned are my favorite but what takes the cake for me is how in the recent track in spite of the pressure mounted on him by Varsha and co he still gave Abir and Mishti a chance to express themselves. The nuanced conversation he had with Abir is unlike anything I have seen on tv. Not only that towards the end he choose to ask his daughter what she wanted instead of forcing the decision on her.

Best bit was "Log kia kahay gay iss say naa toh humay farq padhta hain na toh humrahi beti ko...." such level headed thinking is so rare in both reel and real life. Even in my own post I mentioned that in some facets of our desi society woman are still marginalized for their choices before marriage. There have been so many instances when due to society parents have actually ruined their children's life. So, kudos to the show for giving us a character like BP a father ever girl needs in her life.

P.S The similarities between Abir and BP are uncanny . Abir is very much like his future father in law. I am just impressed by the way both these characters manage to keep their point. They do it with so much class that even if it's a jibe it doesn't feel rude. This is something I am trying to learn from both BP and Abir.

Also thanks for this wonderful post🤗

this this is my most favorite of BP scene and dialogue... as a father he would've really felt bad when mish apologized but still he stopped before she can complete n gave a subtle yet firm warning to meenu... the way he handled the situation was best.. even BM wanted mish to compromise n apologize he even pointed it to her how wrong she was there...

niceee uru for pointing the self respect of mish in BP angle now only seeing it in this way... haldi scene really felt bad for him the most.. even though he didnt believe what she did n trusted her his dialogue on kuku shaadi night on how abhir understood mishti but as a father he couldnt.. somewhere he felt as a father he failed..

I am glad you got my point there, he still managed to handle the situation calmly , that was commendable yaar

like you said he is best at judging people uru.. his mausam dialogue was really epic i really was surprised that time on how meenu thought BP will give in so easily if she asked..

Meenu clearly underestimated bade Papa, ab dekho kitna door rehti hai 😂😂

i was just saying that the partiality of agreeing and not agreeing for mishbir and kuku respectively because of he knows mishti and kuhu and believe in mishti but not in kuhu decision

anyway i was really shocked with the suj bhooj he agreed for mishbir just in few hours because i was thinking that he would not agree due to kuhu and kunal

anyway i loved it and bp once again prooved why he is loved the most

i was just shocked he took decision and that too with confidence with total green signal

as in kuku he said that we know how meenu is and he was skeptical for sending kuhu to meenu house not he was skeptical about kunal

but he agreed here despite knowing what meenu and kunal can do with mishti he took it very lightly

This is because of the difference between kunal and abir. BP does know that kunal cannot stand up against his mom and support kuhu but abir has supported kuhu too and will support mishti also.

I dont think he thinks very highly of kunal
