Originally it had meant that bonds of the heart or bonds we form when we're in the trenches together are thicker than blood ties.

For some reason the saying came to be used in the opposite sense over the years.

Where Minnie and HS are concerned, the original meaning of this saying holds true. They will continue to go through trials and tribulations, and this is completely normal. If Minnie had been a little kid, things would have been quite different after the remarriage. Kids have different expectations that grown ups, rather they don't have expectations at all. Minnie is almost an adult, and has had a complicated childhood, so it's no surprise they will face challenges. And with every challenge they overcome, their bond will continue to strengthen.

As I said before, just like Babita will have to learn to become a wife, HS will have to learn to become a father, and Minnie will have to learn to become a daughter (to both her parents).

Oh that's interesting about the saying....I didn't know that was the original meaning behind it....I only knew of the opposite meaning that's the norm and used as a common phrase😆

@bold: What I find interesting here is....Babita was a mom all her life, so now she has to learn how to become a wife.....HS has been a husband before, but has no experience being a father....so he has to learn how to be a father....Mini has been a mom to her own mom all her life....lol...if she even was a daughter, it was only to one parent - her mom......so she has to learn how to actually be a daughter to two parents......

I had noticed these learning curves were deliberate drawn for each character since the beginning. With time, we travel further along with them.

I don't know who will struggle the most but I think Babita will have more active support from the other two because as NB says, her issues and emotions are out in the open. They know what her struggles are. Minnie and HS, on the other hand, keep a lot within their hearts so it's not always easy for others to know what their challenges are.

Again, I don't think any of the three has actually thought this thing through. I would have expected more from HS, though. He's the one with the deep thoughts but I see none of the introspection or deep conversations with Lala/NB now. It's quite annoying.

She'd gotten used to him understanding things without saying much but this time that approach was missing from him. In most of the big issues she's had, he was the one to either figure it out or at least go and ask her what was going on. This time neither happened.

What if the CDs hadn't been given to him? Would he have gone on like this and said nothing? They showed no introspection from him or even wondering what was going on with her, not paying attention to her the way he normally would even after the wedding. It was just weird. What are we supposed to think? That he had still continued to believe she had done it deliberately until he had received both CDs? Because it was only at that moment that he had a look of realization on his face. This is not what I expect from HS. I don't know why the CVs had to do this.

He went from not checking in on her to saying his heart would break in two if he were to lose her. Then why wasn't he missing her the last few days? What had been going on in his mind? Why wasn't he concerned about the distance between them? Had he just decided to push the CD incident out of his mind? I just felt something was off.

Anyway, there's a proper separation track coming at some points when she is bound to be at loggerheads with him so let's see how that plays out.

I so agree with these points .Had he not received the cd then till how long would have this continued?

I wouldn't say all of Babita's issues and struggles are out in the open....infact she twists a lot of things inside her mind that are hard for a person to understand until she gets a jhatka and realizes and the other person keeps trying to coax things out of her.....it took her so long to actually express to HS what was actually holding her back.....so I don't think it's any easier with her despite all the people who support her.

But yes, HS-Mini are more skilled than her at hiding what's in their heart....because they don't go around throwing tantrums all the time, people don't immediately do a code red trying to figure out their problems.....Babita throwing tantrums inevitably alerts people to the fact that she's got problems.....lol

I guess deep introspection has been on pause since the shaadi because as I said, his mind was sapped dealing with Babita....maybe all the introspections will slowly come back now that they have all settled into the relationships again atleast on a basic level.

Waise I still feel that HS tries to keep things simplistic as much as he can....he finds happiness in simple, basic things....usko khaana mil jaaye, koi pyar se baat kar le....kaafi hai.....on the flip side though, him wanting to keep things simple isn't gonna change the truth of the complicated women he's dealing with or the fact that there are still his own issues that he hides deep in his heart.....but I guess this is all situations based....he isn't gonna bring up things aise hi.....kuch trigger hoga toh then those convos and introspections might happen again.....everything feels settled for now....but it's still surface level....issues will rise again and then convos will happen.

The timing is lost for now....he had wanted to talk about his mom the first night in the room with Babita but that moment devolved....will take time to build back to it.

This bit when HS-Babita were holding the two ends of the sheet.....strangely reminded me of NB's voiceover from the shaadi....when she talked about how both ends of this rishte ki dor are attached to Mini....ek siraa bhi dheela chhuta toh saara taana baana udhar jaata hai......

I wonder if there was any symbolism attached here....HS-Babita picked up the two siraas firmly just as the scene was being cued up for the HS-Mini apology.....it felt like jo siraa dheela chhuta tha, woh sambhaal liya phir se :)

The other elephant in the room that totally got swept aside in all this.....LOL no one is gonna ask Babita why she even kept the CD of her wedding with Ashok with her all this time.....lol....I don't know if it will come up in a future fight between her and HS....especially if Ashok ends up coming back.

Yeh waali cheez bhi dab gayi saare drama mein....no one even questioned Babita for keeping the CD of a marriage she said she wanted to move on from....lol

I'm not upset with HS per se, just annoyed with the CVs for the poor execution of this track and for failing to convince me by suddenly showing us that someone like him makes such a grave mistake, then goes about life as though nothing happened, does nothing to sort out the awkwardness between Minnie and him, doesn't even connect the dots when he sees the CDs until Babita mentions something, etc.

So disappointed that they went down this path. What purpose did it serve? I just find it so annoying they did this for TRPs. That's why I said I missed seeing his introspection. They deliberately didn't show him do any of that because they wanted to force us to think he'd faltered as a parent. They could have done a much better job with this depiction. It just went against everything they've done to build this character since his entry on the show. 😡

I was actually trying to do the math - did they have CDs 17 years ago? I guess they did. And it's still working!

Not only did she keep it, she knew exactly where it was. I do hope they bring this up. Even after getting it back from those guys, I wonder if she will throw it away or burn it like she did her other stuff that Meeta returned.

LOL this feels like a delayed reaction😆....I guess you were still expecting all this despite how they had shown the last few episodes before this one.....I had already made peace with the fact that this is the intent....they wanted to show him faltering as a parent.....that he dropped the ball and didn't manage to introspect thanks to being caught up in dealing with Babita.

I was annoyed by this two days back only when I said I'm not being able to appreciate the HB scenes because they've basically shown that HS was more caught up in honeymoon frustration than being able to deal with Mini.....lol....but everyone else was enjoying the HB scenes then and his blushing over honeymoon😆.....where was the time to introspect about Mini when he was dealing with Babita and trying to figure out ki honeymoon hoga ki nahin?😆.....Adult problems😆

Us sab mein child neglect ho gaya....that is what they wanted to show.....ab maaf bhi kar do HS ko....he never had to directly deal with such a situation before....lol

After thinking about it a bit, I wouldn't say it went against everything his character stood for....not saying the execution wasn't lacking....it definitely was....I'm no fan of the dragged out tamasha this shaadi and the aftermath has been either....but HS's character hasn't gone off the rails *touchwood*....he faltered and lost his balance....but ultimately sambhaal liya.

Some slack also has to be cut for the fact that he was distracted by the aftermath of the shaadi.....or he would have introspected earlier I think.

I don't think he went about life as if nothing happened...but yeah, he did get distracted trying to honeymoon😆.....that is what was annoying me last few days....now I'm over it.....lol

The point remains....neither him or Babita were ready for this marriage....and because they weren't ready, they mishandled the beginning of their marriage and it left an impact on their child....agar Babita capable hoti toh she would have sambhaaloed the situation rather than making it worse for everyone.....and it left a downstream impact on all ends. HS akela nahin sambhaal paaya sab until he managed to stabilize Babita.

The writers messed things up so much that aisi koi situation hi nahin rahi for HS-Mini to talk alag se in the days after the wedding....Babita ka mess was front and center....aur koi baat hi kya karta koi aur koi sochta bhi kya....and it had only been half a day since his issue with Babita got resolved.....HS did come in and ask for Mini the first thing when he came home.....aisa nahin tha that he was still only caught up in Babita.....he did think about Mini....but yes, dekh ke andekha ho gaya cuz his mind had stopped working in that time.

We all expect a lot from HS....not without cause....but I'm also willing to forgive him for this because he did ultimately realize.....that is all I wanted.

And humaare bolne se kaunsa writers yeh faltu TRP gimmicks karna band kar denge.....lol but at the end of the day, the show still draws me back.
