Honestly, sometimes I just don't understand Babita. She has been so wrapped up in her own head for these past seventeen years that whatever lies she kept telling herself to keep herself sane, she believed them to be true. And now that those lies were brought to the forefront, she's been completely shattered. Her mindset, worldviews, even her own faults, and inactions are coming back to haunt her. If only she hadn't kept quiet and stepped up for herself instead. If only she hadn't been the ideal DIL who only served her in-laws. If only she had been a little more assertive in wanting to keep her husband around. But as HS said, she's gotten a second chance now. It's up to her to not mess it up.
As for the character as a whole, there's something off about her. In some ways she's still the same Babita that we were introduced to, in the sense that she needs to be told how to do every little thing. In others, she's completely different as seen in her reluctance to show any rights over HS. If she was truly so afraid, then what the hell was all that sharaabi scene about pre-marriage? đ
Completely agree with everything but sorry I donât understand what u mean in the last sentence with the word sharaabi (I donât speak the Hindu language)
Bold- do u remember when she expected him to stop drinking just because she knew he had feelings for her and she had feelings for him and she spoke about her rights? I find it SO hard to believe that this is the same woman who wonât show any rights over hs post marriage, yet quite openly did so before they were married. Hell, she even allowed him to tell the world heâs miniâs father (before they were married) which one would think would be scandalous considering they were only âlandlordâ and âtenantâ at this time.
I still feel that this marriage was rushed and that she should have been much stronger before entering into it, to give it a chance. Thereâs only so much understanding and patience a partner can put up with. Sheâs not at all found herself and sheâs already jumped into another marriage. I feel like she was more keen on being someoneâs wife rather than being married.
