She has been so wrapped up in her own head for these past seventeen years that whatever lies she kept telling herself to keep herself sane, she believed them to be true. And now that those lies were brought to the forefront, she's been completely shattered. Her mindset, worldviews, even her own faults, and inactions are coming back to haunt her. If only she hadn't kept quiet and stepped up for herself instead. If only she hadn't been the ideal DIL who only served her in-laws. If only she had been a little more assertive in wanting to keep her husband around. But as HS said, she's gotten a second chance now. It's up to her to not mess it up.

As for the character as a whole, there's something off about her. In some ways she's still the same Babita that we were introduced to, in the sense that she needs to be told how to do every little thing. In others, she's completely different as seen in her reluctance to show any rights over HS. If she was truly so afraid, then what the hell was all that sharaabi scene about pre-marriage? 😕

Completely agree with everything but sorry I don’t understand what u mean in the last sentence with the word sharaabi (I don’t speak the Hindu language)

Bold- do u remember when she expected him to stop drinking just because she knew he had feelings for her and she had feelings for him and she spoke about her rights? I find it SO hard to believe that this is the same woman who won’t show any rights over hs post marriage, yet quite openly did so before they were married. Hell, she even allowed him to tell the world he’s mini’s father (before they were married) which one would think would be scandalous considering they were only “landlord” and “tenant” at this time.

I still feel that this marriage was rushed and that she should have been much stronger before entering into it, to give it a chance. There’s only so much understanding and patience a partner can put up with. She’s not at all found herself and she’s already jumped into another marriage. I feel like she was more keen on being someone’s wife rather than being married.

And, by god, there’s a difference 😳

Hard to believe hs fell for such a basket case like babita and I wonder if he would have done had he not fell in love (in a fatherly way) with mini

But even without showing Imarti, we were well aware of the vast differences between the two.

I think the main points for the haq issue to crop up was :

1.The mental stigma associated with having a husband. Back then, HS was her landlord. He wasn't running away from the Haveli nor were they gonna leave. Jab kuch tha hi nahi toh kuch khone ka kya darr?

She was so paranoid about her husband leaving her that she didn't want that commitment from her side taaki agar kuch toote toh uska nuksaan nahi ho

2. And also, she was afraid the he no longer thought about being Mini's father and was too busy being her husband. That made her step back, with the fact that agar aap Mini ke papa nahi toh mere pati nahi

Oops, sorry!

Regardless, you still picked up on the scene I was referring to. 😆 If she was honestly so scared of him leaving her, then she should never have gotten married in the first place. They could all have carried on as they were. Her sharing her woes and happiness with him without the fear of being abandoned, and Minnie would still have had a father figure in her Hanuman Uncle. But because of this marriage, everything fell apart. She really didn't think things through and just acted on impulse.

I agree. We've all been saying the same thing too. The marriage happened way too quickly. Babita has SO many insecurities and issues and they all happened back to back, within the span of less than one year. She needs a lot more time to sort herself out. HS could have still helped her to clear out these knots as a friend and companion. But at least they wouldn't have added the complication of martial expectations / rules / duties etc.

I didn't understand your first point. 🤔 What kind of stigmas are associated with having a husband?

She feels that if she'll get married and will have a husband, he might leave her again cause she's not worth being loved. Wahi, self worth crisis and insecurity. And it was better if they continued like that - ji bilkul nahi. Kuch cheezein address hi nahi hoti if you aren't at that level in your relationship. You need specific tags to address specific issues.

I also think they are showing us the dangers of marrying on the rebound or not allowing enough time to pass before you are genuinely ready for a relationship. It's been not even a year since the divorce.

Not in this serial. People can't get away with things so easily.
