You know in the beginning he used to read every letter and send back a handwritten note or a signed poster to his fans.

There have been many people who have come forward and shared pictures of poster and letters they got back from Hrithik.

He himself said that he and Susanne used to read them and reply to many. Then they got too many for him to read personally so his team read them and I think picked few to forward to him to reply. Most likely it was his team which counted and let him know.
