Kamaal Rashid Khan ADMITS to Oshiwara firing case, Mumbai police seize gun; probe continues

Actor and self-styled critic Kamaal Rashid Khan, popularly known as KRK, was arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with a firing incident reported from Andheri’s Oshiwara area earlier this month. What initially appeared to be a puzzling case with no clear leads has now taken a serious turn, with the actor admitting to firing two rounds from his licensed firearm.

What happened on the night of the firing

The incident dates back to January 18, when residents of a housing society in Oshiwara reported hearing gunshots. During the investigation, police recovered two bullets from Nalanda Society. One bullet was found inside a second-floor flat, while the other was recovered from an apartment on the fourth floor. Officials later revealed that one of the flats is owned by a writer-director, while the other is occupied by a model.

At first, CCTV footage from the area failed to provide any concrete clues. However, forensic analysis later suggested that the bullets were fired from a nearby bungalow, which eventually led investigators to question KRK.

KRK’s admission and police action

KRK was taken into custody late Friday and brought to the Oshiwara police station for questioning. During interrogation, he reportedly admitted to firing the shots and confirmed that he had used his licensed gun. The weapon has since been seized, and police officials said that all legal and procedural formalities are currently underway.

A senior police source stated that while the actor has acknowledged firing the rounds, the motive behind the act is still unclear. Authorities are continuing to examine evidence and statements to determine whether negligence, intent, or any other factor was involved. The formal arrest process is expected to be completed shortly, following due procedure.

KRK’s controversies and current buzz

KRK has long been a controversial figure in the entertainment industry, known for his outspoken opinions, sharp film reviews, and frequent social media spats. Over the years, his comments on actors, filmmakers, and films have often landed him in trouble, keeping him in the headlines for reasons beyond cinema.

Interestingly, just hours before his arrest, KRK had shared a review of Border 2 on X, alleging that director Anurag Singh focused more on Varun Dhawan than on other lead actors like Diljit Dosanjh and Ahaan Shetty. The timing of his online activity has only added to the buzz around the case.
