Don't think he meant that..Ramayana is n epic and epics can't be distorted.

The only grey area in Ram's character is the Agnipareeksha which is well documented..And even criticized.

As per my interpretation Agnipareeksha happened coz Ram had complete trust on Sita and this was his way of shutting up people speaking against her for good..

As for intolerance..Ram is God. No religion would tolerate anything mocking or insulting their God. We all know what happened due to the Danish cartoons.

India is tolerant enough to know that Ram and Krishna were avatars and lived as humans with human characteristics.

This stuff is not considered grey, but as a mahaan sacrifice.. many of our traditions and customs that happened in the past, esp related to women, is inspired from sources like this.

It was mahaan sacrifice of Sita. See, Ram was not a perfect character. He was caught between his duty as a King, a Son and a Husband. He has lot of good qualities and what he did to bring his wife back is epic. But, the story shud not end there. Hope the film shows what happened after that too.

Those are all justifications. But, they come under grey. It was wrong to shoot Vaali from behind. Even if Vaali is bad. It was wrong to make Sita prove her "purity" and make her walk on fire. It was wrong to banish his pregnant wife just bcoz a dhobi make a jibe. It was wrong to again ask her prove her "purity" which made her commit suicide.

Was there any other way Vaali could be killed? No.

Ram wasn't grey, he was mostly upright, which caused so many problem.

I think Ram loved Sita a lot but was victim of circumstances. After Sita committed suicide, Ram was consumed by guilt and ended his life too soon after. The film will be mindblowing if they include all these points too. And let me make it clear. It is not fiction. It is all written in the mythology and was also part of the TV serial too.

Ram is also known as Maryada Purushottam mainly bcoz he went to forest to let his step brother take over bcoz his father gave a word to his step mother. He also never married another woman during the time when Sita was kidnapped or even after he banished her. He defeated enemy in another country and saved his wife. He even took back his wife but unfortunately cud not remain immune to public jibe. Ram and Sita are known as most tragic mythological characters for a reason bcoz of how their love and life ended finally.

Because that's creative liberty. And Ramayana is an epic. It could be interpreted in many ways. That's cinema for you. Adaptations can have creative licenses.

The entire 'you shouldn't touch religion and mythology' is so LOL worthy. Kyun bhai. I want filmmaker, author, random person to touch every aspect of religion and interpret it in their own way. Religion is untouchable wasn't something Hindus used to say before. Infact, one of the core tenets of Hinduism is that it's so open minded and open ended. You have the choice to interpret everything according to your own thinking.

I think that is what makes Hinduism so special.

Haan. Hrithik began with a dream debut but lost the plot in between. He rose back every 3-4 years with a big hit and is probably the only one who challenged and even beat the khan's at the prime but still cause of his insane breaks has never really reached his potential stardom. Now he finally has a very strong chance though. Prabhas on the other hand was always consistent when it comes to stardom in the telugu states. Ironically his biggest break between movies came with Baahubali which proved to be fruitful for him. Mahesh babu is someone who I can compare with Hrithik in bolly.

Prabhas was never consistent... After 2005 chatrapathi.. Next proper hit was in 2010..darling

16 films before bahubali..only 5 have hit status or above..

Rightly said.

But HR himself is very interesting it seems, a man who can comment this way not giving a damn to the intolerance. 🤗

Among the stars, I cannot think of anybody else to play this role but Hrithik. He is just perfect for the part. He can bring in the uprightness, nobility, vulnerability and revenge. Everything so well. I hope it happens.
