By the way, how many who are laughing on Sonakshi would know that there was no idol worship as per the vedas? In fact it was supposedly discouraged. The greatest God that was worshipped was Indra dev, and there is NO mention of Lord Shiva!

And yes, Ramayana IS technically a story. Just like Illiad. I consider vedas as our source of truth. Puranas are just extensions. And Ramayana & Mahabharata are stories retold(Bhagvad Gita is technically a part of Mahabharata). They could be true stories, yes. But shrota, the way information was passed down, would mean some info might have changed.

Source on idol worship was supposedly discouraged. I don't think it was discouraged, heck I don't even think it was mentioned.

You first decide if you want to argue based on scriptural evidence or historical evidence. Because you were pretty sure in your previous comment about what Vedas say about idol worship. And now you are talking about age of idols.And if you feel Vedas and Upanishads contradict each other then nothing more to say. You have right to believe what you want to. But make sure you don't hurt others sentiments. I feel your comment was unnecessary in a thread about Sonakshi's poor GK.
