Some police officers might have done it doesn't make entire police force corrupt...

Religious places, hospitals and railway stations do not have the job of protecting the public, police stations do. The reason why you will distrust full police force even if it is one person is because of two reasons - not doing the job and second there is no strict punishment or deterant. That is the collateral damage .

Few rotten eggs?? More like a few good eggs...India mein law and order ka ye haal nahi hota if the police was doing their job...

Ji nahi...u are hearing this from someone who was born and grew up in India.....apne desh ki kamjoriyon ko pehchanoge nahi toh theek kaise karoge...Accepting that there is a problem is the first step to a solution.....The fact is that the police of India is not something to gloat about....its sad though...very sad.

I am not shying away from accepting there is a problem.. all i am saying is its not as prevalent as you are projecting. If police was that bad we would have been in state of anarchy by now.

We have spent night on the railway station when we missed the trains, so we know it's safe, esp ladies waiting room ..

After our Himalayan trek, me and my friend were dropped at Chandigarh bus stop at 4 a.m. in the morning. We didn't have any hotel booking as the bus was supposed to reach by 6. So we hired a taxi (yes, the taxi driver was a stranger) he dropped us safely at our destination, which was Chandigarh airport. We told the military personnel on guard, that we want to stay inside. He let us in, just informed us that the duty changes at 6 and if his reliever asks us to step out, we'll have to do so.

Once inside (the whole airport was empty that time) we kept our backpack aside and slept off on the benches. The duty changed at 6.00 but the other personnel didn't ask us to go out. In fact there were another couple (a girl and a guy) who were let in probably an hour after us, they were ask to go out, probably cause of the guy. But we were not disturbed at all.

We sat there till 3.00 in the afternoon, when our flight to Mumbai was suppose to take off. In between, I also took a taxi to go to the main market to buy sweets for home. Even that driver was Stanger but very safe. I told him I want to buy sweets and he offered to take me to the best sweet mart in Chandigarh. Needless to say, he dropped me safely back to the airport....

I really feel bad when girls generalize the situation and speak ill about their own countrymen. Esp when they say indian men are shitty, I feel like asking if they have the same views about their fathers and brothers as well.

Something like this, a soonsaan street with yellow street lights. This is a street in France, I think.
