Remember she was depressed for few days but was back to her normal form. Akash must have entered her life maybe after few months and they might have hit it off. About Payal's death, I feel either it's a cold blooded murder or she got killed for being present at the wrong place at the wrong time. Collateral damage. I had ruled out suicide long time ago. Accident, yes, it's plausible but not convincing for some reason. But you never know. Ho bhi sakta hain! I think hame shart lagani chahiye 😉 What say?

You want me to think a Police officer deliberately lied to Khushi? I don't think so. Which means there is no murder but an accidental death/suicide. It is possible someone drove her to it.
Akash may have been unhappy with the marriage that was arranged for him. Plus he was not cut out for business. Maybe he came down and spend time at the beach house as an escape which is when he met up with Payal. Did they then fall for each other or did they just find a sounding board for both their problems? Was there someone else in the picture? Shyam needs to be on the good side with the Raizadas. Lot of the funding for his shenanigans comes through them is my thought. So he wouldn't want anything to rock the boat so to speak.
Like you mentioned we still don't know why Arnav and Payal fought the day of her death.
