Thanks for sharing your perspective! :)

I think these differs for different people and should be looked at on a case to case basis! I’m just saying generally, I understand the value and importance of maintaining the family unit for social cohesion.

I personally am not faithful to any one culture, I take and borrow elements from other cultures that I find sensible and create my own culture. But I think it is also important to call out cultural elements that are harmful and break down the society because it affects all of us in the end.

Omo what type of App is it where people pay for your trips?! .. 😲

I used it a long time ago. I think it was travel pal or world packers. Basically you travel with the other person if you like then it asks you if you’ll be paying for yourself, for both or you would like your partner to pay for both of you.

I wanted to see if girls would pay for my trip and if so then what kind of girls. It shows what I’m attracting 😛

But as a girl you’ll find many takers. Only thing is to find cool dudes rather than the creeps.

There’s also go fund me and yes people actually pay for your trip just depends how you word it. Then there’s volunteering for few hours while traveling and your place + food is set. Just have to pay for tickets. So there’re many ways.

There’re also good travel channels. I like ‘hey Nadine’ check it out, she travels all over the world and makes YouTube videos 😁

That's cool, I might check it out then! Same here, I also I prefer having my own place.

I have a preference for solo travelling too, haha.smiley36 I just loooove autonomy. So far, I have had no problems from women or men. Airport security & law enforcement ppl are more of a pain for me (don't worry I don't do anything illegal but I hate long queues and unnecessary rules & regulations).

Wow those women are pretty generous, huh! I am glad you paid them back though.smiley36

Yeah but it depends if they find you interesting enough in more than one way 😉 otherwise it’s rare specially when guys are ready to pay for their trips let alone their own.

Long queues are amazing. I just observe people and learn so much or talk to them or just meditate.

Tradition is just conditioning and it’s best to break from all conditions than living alone or with big family won’t be an issue. If you’re not living with love and care then there’ no point. Fighting over petty things or drama is a no no.

Even if someone does something for me but resents me for it because they feel like they have to because I’ve done something for them even that is a no no. As I feel everyone should be free to do or not to do what they want but mostly we’re conditioned by our past so that choice isn’t there to begin with so we try to find it through traveling.

But you won’t find yourself through traveling in fact you should stop traveling. Yes stop traveling to past and future in your head. Stop living in memory and anticipation, both are illusory and only then will you find yourself in deep silence, gyaan zyada Hogaya 😂

I think I'll pass on that then - I am more of an introvert and don't really enjoy talking much (except on the internet and topics I am passionate about).😆

I know it sounds a little big-headed to say but I think I am not affected by any kind of conditioning...I think culture is NOT a good thing by itself (hence it begins with 'cult'), but there is no harm in paying respect to traditions that foster strong bonds between people like the tradition of being family oriented in Eastern cultures. In the same vein, the liberal autonomy that the West provides is also pretty amazing. Personally, I will always advocate for balance as too much of anything is not good in my humble opinion.

Hmm...I think each person has their own reasons for travelling so each to their own! Food is enough reason for me to travel.😛

Yeah people travel for different reasons but it’s to see something new, new experiences, new/different people. You can also be someone else than your usual self, it’s freeing on many levels.

We’re all conditioned. It’s all programming. The language you speak, the way you’re, your thoughts, beliefs, view point, it’s all borrowed mostly not by choice. Your attachments, aversions is all part of it.

So one person would be fearful while another fearless, one lazy another full of action. It’s not really by choice. A lot of things go into it and it all comes down to your programming, what you were fed as a kid and I don’t mean your body but what was fed to your mind. Starting from parents then teachers, the whole society then tv, radio, media. Everyone has constantly been feeding us bull so those ideas thoughts are really not yours that’s why I feel we need to be more aware and question/doubt our existing thought patterns, beliefs, values, everything. Because none of it is chosen by us and if it’s not then you’re not really free. You’re like a machine who’s programmed and the system is doing it’s thing. You’ll see same patterns, same usual reactions. It’s really not by choice and I also see people struggling as they don’t know any better and are stuck.

Problem is we look outwards for our internal conflict and that’s why never really find true resolution.

I’m an introvert too but it’s good to try new things. I think even that is putting yourself in a box. I don’t think I’m really introvert or extrovert. What I see it as something out of my comfort zone but we should do things that are outside of our comfort zone only then we grow.

I think freedom is an illusion precisely for the reasons you have stated. I think it is good to encourage people to question things but the reality is that most of them don't want to. And that's okay too...let them be. They'll be much happier that way.

I have a growth mindset too, but even then I am not going to do things that drain my energy. Socialising is one of those things unfortunately. I prefer to get out of my comfort zone when learning new skills or trying out a new hobby etc. With people I cannot be bothered putting in the effort unless they turn out to be my type. It is more laziness than introversion to be honest.😆
