With Babita, it's Babes. Something unique and special, just like her. Plus, as you mentioned, it shouts out how their bond goes beyond that of a typical mother-daughter. It's the same thing with HS. Yes, she considers him her father, but they have a different equation with each other. He has missed out on 17 years of her life and Minnie is nearly an adult. He can't treat her like a choti bachi and he hasn't ever tried to either. Based on that alone, whatever term she uses has to reflect that bond that she has with him. So I don't think she'll pick something common like Bapu, Papa, Dad, etc. Whatever she chooses will be a little hatke just like her father.

Then again, what do I know. 😆

Gur, such a good bacchi you are.....sabka viewpoint samajh leti ho.....Camp Bapu and Camp Not-Bapu, dono ka😆

HS has been a different kind of father to Mini....as you rightly pointed out, he hasn't seen her formative years....the main years of her childhood....she's come to him almost as an adult....so whatever term she uses for him should reflect some of that also.....along with the hatke nature of their bonding.

Anyways, I guess we should trust the writers to do this right.....whatever term they decide, I want it to be a good emotional scene b/w HS and Mini when the time comes.

HS ki first reaction to drinking Babita ke haath ki chai was "Bhains ki poochh"🤣

I'm curious.....does Babita actually cook exactly like Imarti did or is this HS projecting all his emotions into any food that touches his heart? Ki if he likes the taste, it must taste like Imarti's food?

In the first chai scene also he said Babita's chai tasted exactly like Imarti's chai😆

I don't think Babita & Imarti made food the exactly the same but they may have had similar styles. Tbh, I don't find it that surprising as most foods have a similar base to it but each household adds their own unique touches to it. For example, whilst making sholay, some people add teabags to give it a darker color while others might not. Or they may use the same masale but the proportions may be different.

As for the chai, both Imarti & Babita put crushed ginger into it which HS grew to love a lot. First from Imarti obviously, and then from Babita. Even at my home, my Chachaji and his dad put crushed ginger in their chai whereas my mom would put a sliver of it.

Hence, I believe HS' compliments and love for Babita's food is singular and absolutely genuine.

LOLL, I hope it didn't make me sound hypocritical! 😆

I would love for Minnie to call HS Bapu at least once so that a) Jean's dream comes true and b) for HS to have that chance to hear his child call him with a fatherly title.

After that, Minnie can officially inaugurate him with a word she has selected just for him. 😆

Whenever that scene takes place, Imma cry so hard.

LOLL, I must have misunderstood you when you said, "...or is this HS projecting all his emotions into any food that touches his heart? Ki if he likes the taste, it must taste like Imarti's food?"

I understood it as him liking Babita's food only because it reminds him of Imarti and her food. Not as him liking the food for itself.

No, that is not what I meant. I guess our viewpoints are just very different in general so it's easy to misunderstand words here😆

As I said in the beginning of this thread also, I feel HS is hiding behind Imarti's memories in many cases.....he instantly associates anything he likes with something Imarti made....so even though he liked Babita's food for itself, he instantly invoked Imarti's memory to associate with it, as if that made it comfortable for him to appreciate the food.

So I was simply speculating again about whether Babita actually cooks like Imarti or it's the case of HS hiding behind Imarti's memories even while appreciating Babita.

Anyways, this was a long time back in the storyline.....I just rewatch the scenes sometimes so I end up mentioning them here.

Off late, toh HS has evolved to ordering pizza for Babita and saying he never did this for Imarti cuz use Chinese pasand tha😆

LOLL, it's more likely me being too dumb to pick up on what you're all throwing down. 😆

If that is truly the case then HS' grief and issues ran far deeper than what I had imagined. It pains me greatly to see him be consumed by his own sorrow to this extent. In a way, it mirrored Babita's guilt when it came to personal desires. There were certain things she wanted but could never fully express herself because of LKK. HS, on the other hand, after Imarti's death may have felt guilty about enjoying the little things in life. He may not have taken a lot of stock about filling his daily events with a lot of life since he didn't see the point of it with Imarti being gone.

HS did order food for Babes but he also refused to talk about Imarti. He may have shared a light hearted fact about her, however, when it came to difficult matters, he refused to even broach the topic. He wants to keep Babita and Imarti as far away from each other as possible but it's not possible since he carries Imarti within himself.

I don't want her to call him Papaji either....that much we can agree on. Even Hanuman Uncle can continue on if that works....but I feel it will become a flashpoint at some point where she will be asked why she calls her father "Uncle"....and they will cross into another threshold from there. Which is why I suggested the options of Daddyji or Dad.

The rest, time will tell where the writers take it.

I would like her call HS popsie. Mom babes father popsie. It will suit minnie. I heard my friend call her father that. It gives mix of friendship and father vibes that defines their relation

He's not ready to talk about her with Babita. There was a scene where she asked him how he was adapting to the difference in taste between Imarti's and her cooking and his response was that it was obvious that there would be differences since they were too different people.

He had told Minnie off for awakening the beast inside him and after reconciling with his father in law I think he just put a leash on it and refused to talk about it. There's a lot of angst, grief, madness that needs to come out, and he can't resort to drinking. I am really looking forward to those tracks. He hasn't had closure yet and I'm not sure he will ever be able to completely. Aniruddh's going to love performing those wild scenes and we're going to love watching him. It's going to be very very hard, but at least now he has his own family to stand by him and understand his grief and hurt.
