Sorry for the late comment. But must have read the post more than 10 times. Everything seems so natural when u put up and hats off to you for making sure the readers are gripped even after 46 updates.

The growth of Samaina has been phenomenal and the way u wrote down their intimate moments a small blush crept along with a satisfying smile. Finally both the kids are bleased with each other's love and their romance is full on.

Their mini judaai was so cute and I was sure Samy boy wont let her stay away from him for long . And Naina has also slowly started understanding his bahanas.

Mr Somani toh is hilarious. He has been entering us everytime he opens his mouth.

Lastly just read ur comment saying that only 1 or 2 more posts are left, this really made our hearts heavy. Obviously every good thing has to come to an end, am sure as a writer u know what bests to suit the story so won't be asking u to drag this one (really gonna miss thia badly)but surely want you to come up with something new as and when time permits.

Lots of love

Sneha

Thanks Sneha and I am thrilled to read that you still find the story gripping! That’s really kind of you 🤗

I am very happy to read that you have enjoyed their changing dynamics and the growing emotional and physical intimacy. Sameer se toh an doori bilkul bardasht nahi hoti 😂

Somani toh hai hi entertainment ke liye. So glad you all have enjoyed his strange comments 😃

Yes dear, will wrap this up soon! Thanks for all your support.

Hey May,

Sorry for responding late...

Yaar I just read your comment about ending this FF... Show end hone ka dard bhara nahi ek aur dard mat do... 💔

Won't mind if u wanna take a break and come back with further story. But don't end it so soon... as we are emotionally connected with this FF

Now coming to update...

It was extremely sensual and romantic update.. Loved their tiny judaai and Sameer's craving.

I am loving this Somani in your story who is one hell of an observer and romantic person 😃

Ramdhari and his own ramdhun was interesting

The most hilarious part of Sameer consummation with Car driving... Now both will eagerly wait for Naina's periods 😃

The list is endless... but again pls dont make a THE END so soon...

Cheers,

Akanksha

Hi Akanksha,

I am really so touched to read how much you all would like me to continue this FF. I just don’t think I will be able to do justice to it beyond a certain point. I had a clear idea of the story I wanted to tell when I started it, though I have added or expanded on some bits based on readers comments and some personal thoughts.

Will start something new as and when some inspiration strikes 😊

Humare naye naye lover boy ko tadpane ke liye thodisi judai toh jaruri hi thi 😃

Learning license se full license Abhi convert hua hai... Banda easily confused ho jata hai! Aur ladki bhi tangent pe sochne lagti hai 🤣 Ram milayi jodi jo thehri 😉

Somani phir ek baar cha gaya 😃

Hope you enjoy the remaining parts too!

Chapter 47

The next morning as Naina emerged from the bathroom and started dressing for the day, her eyes kept drifting towards her sleeping husband, at first in anticipation, which slowly turned into annoyance as she thought, Bada keh rahe thay uss din, ke ab mujhe akele neend nahi aati… Aaj toh kumbhakaran jaise soye hai!

But her mind was soon diverted as she looked around the room dwelling on the changes to the room. The new furniture had drastically altered the look. It no longer felt like a boy’s room. The new closets were placed against the wall where the Michael Jackson and Julia Roberts used to hang. Had he trashed them or just put them away somewhere? The punching bag was still hanging, but the day before he had mentioned something about thinking of relocating it. She wondered briefly if he had felt a little forlorn saying goodbye to his old life? And then almost laughed out thinking, Agar roz meri hathon bani anpe pasand ki coffee peeni hai, toh uss poster wali ko toh bye bolna hi padege!

Sometime later as she cooked breakfast alongside Ramdhari, he said “Bhabhi, woh kal sab ke saamne keh nahi paye… par jab gaav se aate hi pata chala ke aap uppar rehne chali gayi hai, toh bahoot khush huye hum! Hum toh turant jaake Ram mandir mein diya laga ke aaye.” His Bhabhi blushed a little and then murmured “Thank you bhaiya… aap ne shuru se hi mera bahoot khayal rakha hai. Nanaji aur aap, dono ne bahoot dhadas bandhaya hai mera.” Ramdhari pleased with this praise went about his work faster than usual.

Vishakha and Bobby were heading back to Delhi the next day. Over breakfast Vishakha smiled her bahu “Naina, aaj na woh Triffle pudding banayenge! Dinaz aunty bahoot bata rahi thi mujhe uske baare mein.” Naina nodded happily and then the Saas-Bahu spent the day together, shopping for the ingredients in the morning and cooking it in the afternoon. Naina caught more and more glimpses into her mother-in-laws life in Delhi, and the challenges she had faced during her years in the Somani household. Deepika and her latest antics were much discussed, with some fleeting references to Rohan and his grandmother.

The dessert was polished off with much gusto after dinner that night. Nanaji of course had to make do with a very small portion! He announced to everyone, his intention to return to work fairly soon. After some initial objections the family gave in to his decision, when he assured them that he would definitely reduce his working hours though.

Post some happy goodbyes the next morning, the Maheshwari household once again settled into its routine, albeit a slightly altered one. Nanaji giving into the demands of the family reduced his work hours, while Sameer increased his. Everyday when Nanaji returned he would rest a little and then Naina and he would have some tea together. Some days it would be in the garden as she tended to her plants or sometimes it would be as she read out her favourite Dohas to him.

During one of their earlier times together after Vishakha left for Delhi, as Naina handed him the tea and some sugar-free Nankatai that she had attempted that day, Nanaji had lovingly patted her head “Pata hai, iss baar saalon ke baad peheli baar Vishakha ke jaane ke baad ghar khaali khaali mehsus nahi ho raha hai.” She had smiled and said “Christmas hi chutiyon mein woh sab log wapas aayenge toh bahoot maza aayega. Preeti bata rahi thi, woh bus stand ke pass wale park mein kuch naya play equipment laga hai. Deepika paka enjoy karegi!” And then she added a little hesitantly “Aur Rohan se bhi milna hoga… par Sameer unn se theek se baat karte hai ya nahi??” Nanaji admitted “Rohan se bhi uski kuch khaas banti nahi thi… par actually Rohan kafi seedha sa bacha hai. Mujhe lagta hai, dheere dheere Sameer ab uss se bhi apna relation theek kar hi lega. Pata hai, iss baar aur bhi ek baat hui hai! Peheli baar, Vivek ke yaha rehte Sameer aur ussme koi badi behees nahi hu hai.”

Nanaji put down the cup and continued a little misty eyed “Naina, yeh life experience tha ya meri khud ki aas, par tumhe peheli baar dekhte hi dil mein ek ummeed ne ghar kar liya tha, ke tum mere iss buddhu ki zindagi sawaar dogi!” She blushed “Nanaji, aap bilkul theek kehte hai, woh bahoot ache hai.” He left out a sigh of relief “Ha beta, acha toh hai, par bus uska dimag thoda jaldi garam ho jata hai. Aur ek baat yaad rakhna, kissi bhi insaan ke swabhav ke kuch pehlu badalne mein waqt lagta hai.” When she looked a little confused, he tied to explain “Dekho, usse abhi shayad thoda time lagega seekhne mein ke apne ghusse pe kaboo kaise rakhna hai. Aur tumhe bhi uski yeh aadat thodi undekhi karni padegi… beta, ghar toh aise hi baste hai.”

As she nodded, he smiled at her fondly “Par, agar tumse koi bhi badtameezi kare toh bina kissi darr ke tum bhi usse do baate sunna dena! Aur mujhse bhi kehne mein katrana nahi, samjhi?? Main abhi hu yaha uske kaan kheechne ke liye!” Her eyes glistened as she spoke “Thank you Nanaji… aapne bahoot himmat di hai mujhe. I am sorry, mujhe hi shayad samajh nahi aaya ke aap ko bhi kitna dard aur tension ho raha tha, humari problems se.” He shook his head and muttered “Chodo un baaton ko… bus ab mujhe tum dono ko haste muskurate dekhna hai, samjhi?” He then tasted one of the Nankatais and smiled approvingly “Aare wah, yeh toh bahoot tasty bani hai. Sameer ki Nani jaise hi tumhare hath mein bhi swad hai!” She beamed at the compliment and glanced at the clock wondering when he would be back and sample her latest experiment.

That week, Sameer experienced two fairly different emotions every night when he enquired “Tumhara woh shuru ho gaya??” There would be some excitement knowing there was nothing stopping them from enjoying some romantic escapades, but also some underlying apprehension. He had very confidently tried to reassure her that a pregnancy was out of question, but was it? What if she was already pregnant?!

It had already been two days over and above the estimated one week, when he asked her as she tidied something in the closets “Naina, tumne toh kaha tha ke ek week mein aa jayenge tumhare periods… parso toh ek week ho gaya na!” She muttered distractedly “O ho… roz yahi baat pochte ho… aa jayenge. Aise koi exact din thodehi hota hai!”

He uttered a little tersely “Tumhe toh koi tension hi nahi hai! Kuch ho gaya hoga toh?!” She looked at him starting to say “Kya kuch ho gaya hoga…” And then it hit her what he was implying “Par… aapne toh kaha tha ke kuch nahi hua hoga…” He replied weakly “Nahi, matlab hua toh nahi hoga… par phir bhi ek baar tasalli ho jaye toh acha, right?” She sat on the bed, now fidgeting with her pallu. Both were lost in their own thoughts trying to comprehend how their lives would be affected if a baby was on the way.

Naina felt a little scared, knowing how reluctant he had been to let her into his life and to embrace all the changes that she had brought with her. How would he feel about a child and how it would further shake up his life? Finally, she asked “Aap ko bache nahi chahiye kya?” He looked surprised at this question “Maine yeh kab kaha ke bache nahi chahiye?!” When she stayed silent, he pulled her closer “Bus abhi… kuch jaldi ho jayega, nahi? Abhi toh humara dono ka college bhi khatam hona hai. Mujhe kaam mein bhi settle hona hai… aur, such kahu toh mujhe abhi kuch waqt tumhara attention kissi ke sath share nahi karna hai!”

She paled thinking what would that mean if she was pregnant? She had heard some whispers about some pregnancies being terminated, mostly when the family was extremely opposed to the idea of a female child. Though she had cringed at the thought in the past, she had never truly dwelt on it. But it now made her soul quake. Her hand instinctively moved to her tummy and her voice trembled as she shook her head “Main, bacha nahi girayungi… chahe jo bhi ho. Aap apne college aur business pe hi concentrate karna… main jarurat padi toh college chod dungi. Par baby ko kuch nahi hone dungi!” And then as various doubts and possible outcomes clouded her mind, she rushed to add “Aur main apne bache ko kahi dur bhi nahi bhejungi… koi hostel-wostel mei nahi bhejungi…” She turned to him, her overflowing eyes almost pleading “Sameer, main uske liye aapko ignore thodehi karungi!”

He placed a finger on her lips “Ekdum chup! Pata nahi kya sochne lag jati ho. Maine aisa toh kuch nahi kaha! Abortion ka khayal bhi kaise aaya tumhe… mere mann mein toh dur dur tak aisa kuch nahi hai Naina. Aur tum yeh soch bhi kaise sakti ho ke, main, jo itne saal ghar aur Maa-Baap ke liye itna tarsa hu, woh apne bache ko kabhi bhi dur rakhne ka, ek pal ke liye bhi soch sakta hu? Naina, main toh sirf tumhare sath mere dil ki baat ya shayad koi apprehensions share kar raha hu. Iss mein itna kyun react kar rahi ho?”

She nestled her face against his chest as the tears flowed “Sorry… mujhe bus soch ke bahoot darr laga…” She was still sniffling a minute later as he rubbed his thumb against her arm “Aaj ka na din hi bura hai! Shaam ko itni mehnat se pav bhaji banayi thi… toh woh aapki Kakiji ka phone aa gaya… unke sau sawaalon ke jawab dene mein, sabji jal gayi! Phir kadhi chawal hi banane pade. Subhe main jaake bazaar se sari sabziya khud leke aayi thi. Aur sab waste ho gaya…” She was almost sobbing by the time she finished. Sameer looked on befuddled thinking, Pehele imaginary bache ko hostel bhejne ka soch ke upset ho rahi thi… ab sabzi jal gayi yeh yaad karke ro rahi hai! Tabiyat toh theek hai iski?

Suddenly recalling something, he pulled away a little and got a chocolate bar from his side-table and broke her off a big chunk “Pehele yeh kaho… aur sab tension wali baatein bhool jao.” As she munched on the chocolate, he tried to lighten the mood and recounted how a cat had somehow got on the factory floor that day and how all the grown men had been running about to chase it away! She slowly wiped all the tears away and was giggling by the time his anecdote and chocolate both ended. He chuckled softly looking at her still slightly red nose and dropped a kiss on her head thinking, Bilkul pagal hai… Bhagwanji ne bhi mere liye ekdum dhundh ke special delivery bheji thi!

The next evening when he returned from work, she rushed outside as he got out of the car and took the tiffin from his hand. He asked a little surprised “Ramdhari kaha hai? Tum kyun bhagti hui aayi ho?” She smiled “Bus aise hi…” As he sat down to remove his shoes, she muttered “Woh shuru ho gaya aaj.” He still preoccupied with some issue at work, asked distractedly “Kya??” She shuffled a little and replied “Wahi jo leke kal aap itna pareshaan ho rahe thay!” He now understanding her reference, felt rather relieved but tried to downplay his relief “Main thodehi pareshaan ho raha tha… bus poocha hi toh tha… acha main change karke aata hu, coffee bana do please.” As she headed to the kitchen, she thought, Baade aaye… main kaha pareshaan ho raha tha?? Chehera ka sara rang toh udd gaya tha kal! And yet, she blushed a little thinking how he was now reluctant to share her with anyone at all.

After chatting with his wife over coffee, Sameer headed out to meet Munna and Pandit for a bit. When he returned home, he handed her a bag saying “Electric heating pad hai. Socha tumhe kamar mein dard hota hai na inn dinon mein… Baar baar paani bhi thanda nahi ho jayega.”  She hugged him quickly making sure neither Nanaji nor Ramdhari were around and smiled a thanks.

Once the Diwali holidays were over their days got even more busier. Sameer often complained about their college times not matching and how it meant he did not get a chance to pick and drop his wife. One day though, he managed to sneak away from the factory a little early and Naina found his perched on his bike as she approached the bike stand. Even before either could speak, Preeti exclaimed “Jijaji! Lagata hai, aap ka aaj phir kisi dhaabe ka masala doodh peene ka mann hai.”

As he blushed a little, she added “Shayad meri behen aap ko nahi batayegi… par isse toh Ghelaram ka doodh acha lagata hai! Toh… ji bhar ke ride kar lijiye, par phir doodh pelane kissi dhaabe pe mat jayiyega.” As Naina clasped her hand a little too tightly trying to get her to shut up, Preeti turned to her “Kya kar rahi hai?! Toot jayegi meri ugliya.” And then she sulked “Chal Swati… humare naseeb mein toh sirf rickshaw se ghar jana hi likha hai.” Naina said reassuringly “Dekh lena tum dono ko bhi jaldi hi mere Jijaji bike ride ke liye jayenge.” And then she sat behind her husband placing her hand on his shoulder, leaving a number of girls sighing, as they watched the Salman Khan of their college being whisked away.

Most evenings now, Sameer and Naina would head out for a bit after he returned from the factory. The activities varied from visits to the Ice-cream parlour, Mandir, Shopping Centre to getting together with Munna and Pandit for chat. Naina’s devars continued dropping by every now and then to sample the results of her cooking exploits but with a little less enthusiasm, as their Bhabhi was now more focused on cooking healthier snacks meeting Nanaji’s dietary requirements.

Of course, one of the earliest things that happened was, Naina invited Swati for tea. A range of dishes from samosas, fafda, potato wafers to homemade cake were served. Swati looked around the house with wonder filled eyes and remarked to Naina “Yaar, kitna sundar ghar hai Sameer ka! Aur kitne din laga diye tune mujhe invite karne hai… main toh sochne lagi thi, ke ab ek din bina bulaye hi aa thamkungi tere ghar!” And then she added a little flatly “Naina, such kehu, toh mujhe thoda bura bhi laga tha ke tune mujhe itne din apne ghar nahi bulaya… sochne lagi thi… kahi aisa toh nahi ke tujhe ab tere pehele wale dost iss ghar mein bulane ke layak hi nahi lagte.” Naina paled and stuttered “Pagal ho gayi hai kya? Aisa… tu soch… kaise sakti hai… Woh toh… bus… naye ghar mein adjust hone mein thoda waqt lagta hai na. Waise toh sab log yaha ache hai, par phir bhi, kya sochte, ke nayi bahu ne aate hi ghar sambhalna chod ke doston ke sath maze karne shuru kar diye…”

As Swati nodded along not looking wholly convinced, Sameer entered the lounge and held his one ear “Sorry Swati. Iss mein sari galti meri hai.” Naina looked at him losing even more colour, wondering just what he was about to reveal, but he continued with a smile “Woh actually, main hi isse bahoot busy rakhta tha! Kya karu, bus biwi ko kissi aur ke sath share karne ka mann nahi tha!” Swati giggled “Phir thik hai! Par Jijaji, ab aap ko mujhe ek badi wali treat deni padegi!” He agreed readily “Jab aur jaha tum kaho!”

Swati absolutely gushed over Naina’s bedroom, admiring the new furniture and the way Naina had organised the room and the closets. There was some discussion on the two new dress materials Vishakha had gifted her and what style she should get them stitched in.

As Sameer watched his wife showing Swati around with twinkling eyes, he understood why she had been so afraid to invite anyone over while staying in the guestroom. A fresh wave of shame ceased him. That night, Naina asked him “Kya hua? Aap sham se suddenly itna serious kyun ho gaye hai? Factory mein sab theek hai na??” He responded clasping her hand “Swati ka visit acha toh raha na? Matlab tumhe usse ghar dikhane mein khushi toh hui na?” She seemed a little confused by the question “Aisa kyun pooch rahe hai aap? Aap ne dekha toh sahi na ke woh kitni tarrif kar rahi thi ghar ki… usse toh mera vegetable garden bhi bahoot pasand aaya!”

He shook his head “Kuch nahi, bus aise hi khayal aaya… aur yaar, maine sau baar kaha hai tumse mujhe yeh aap-aap mat kiya karo! Pata hai, tumhare muh se sunta hu toh koi uncle type feeling aati hai!” Her eyes crinkled in humour “Haaye… kitne handsome uncle hai…” When he though blushing still tried to look annoyed, she added “Sameer, ab adaat ho gayi hai… aur baaki sab badon aur baharwalon se samne acha thodehi lagega tum bola hua.” He retorted “Ha toh, unke samne keh lena aap. Akele mein toh tum keh sakti ho na!” She snuggled closer “Acha baba, koshish karungi. Waise pata hai, ghusse mein tumhari naak ekdum lal ho jati hai! Bahoot cute lagte ho!” Inching closer, he responded in a teasing tone “Kya baat hai… handsome bhi aur cute bhi… lagta hai aunty ka aaj uncle ke sath romance ka mood hai!” She responded smiling “Shayad…”

The Somanis could not visit over Christmas as hoped for, as Bobby’s mother had caught a terrible cough that kept making some very ill-timed recurrences.

Sameer came up with the idea of hosting a New Years Party for his and Naina’s friends at their house. This idea got the younger generation very excited. A bonfire along with ample food and drinks was arranged. Apart from his two besties, his Saali and Naina’s childhood friend, Ravi and Smita who had got married at the beginning of December were invited too. As it turned out, Sameer and Naina had started enjoying spending time with the newly married couple.

Nanaji sat with the youngsters for a little while and then announced that he was too old for all these festivities now and headed to bed. The youngsters left to themselves laughed and joked a lot. Music and dancing also featured heavily in the entertainment that evening.

The four singles smirked and rolled their eyes at each other seeing the married couples indulging in endless ku-chi-ku moments, but each also secretly wondered when they would get to experience that sort of romance. Munna though trying to be subtle, made some not too subtle gestures for Swati, fetching her a number of glasses of soft drinks and then playing her preference of songs.

Some firecrackers stashed away after Diwali were brought out and lit at the dot of midnight. Sameer whispered something in her ear and planted a quick kiss on his wife’s cheek as everyone shouted out their New Year’s wishes to each other. Naina swatted at his arm and mumbled colouring furiously “Abhi nahi Sameer! Sab log kya sochenge…” He grumbled pouting “Yaar, sab ke baare mein sochti hu… kabhi mere baare mein bhi soch liya karo!”

As soon as most of the guests left for the night, and his two saalis were settled in the guestroom, he urgently pulled her upstairs, whispering throatily “Naya saal toh pure meethe ke sath hi shuru karenge.”

As mid of February approached, one day while in the library Swati asked Naina with an excited look “Naina, card lene chale?” Naina looked up from her books with a questioning look “Kiska birthday hai ab??” Her friend replied “Aare pagal, birthday nahi… Valentine’s day aa raha hai! Tune Sameer ke liye kuch liya hai kya? Yaar, shaadi ke baad toh yeh tumhara pehela Valentine’s day hai. Kuch khaas hi plan kiya hoga na tum dono ne!”

Naina bit on the end of her pen thoughtfully. They hadn’t really talked about it, but knowing him, he would probably take her out for dinner or a movie. And then complain that she hadn’t made any romantic plans for them! She started packing her books “Acha idea hai tera… chal Archies jaate hai!” An hour later she exited the shop feeling very excited, with a card and a gift-wrapped box of little heart shaped chocolates.

She spent the next couple of days analysing all his actions and words, trying to figure out just what he had planned. The was some inspection coming up at the factory and he had been working longer hours. The same topic would be discussed at length, at the dinner table too. Naina couldn’t figure out if he had some plans afoot for their first Valentine’s.

The morning of the big day for lovers worldwide, she started her day with much anticipation, casting shy glances at him at the breakfast table. But he left for the day without a single wish or endearment. She waved him off as he left for the college putting on a bright smile but feeling a little let down.

Sometime later she stood looking at the prettily wrapped box that she had hidden at the back of her closet thinking, Inhe toh yaad bhi nahi hai ke aaj kya hai! Aise kaise bhool gaye? Humara pehela Valentine’s Day hai! Maybe he had planned something for the evening… But hadn’t he mentioned as he left that he might get delayed again that evening? She tried to cajole her heart that it didn’t matter if they didn’t celebrate this specific day, after all wasn’t very day with him filled with innumerable moments of celebration? And yet, some slight disappointment that gripped her heart wouldn’t dissipate as she went about her usual household chores.

The guys were sitting in class waiting for the next professor to arrive. Munna and Pandit were exchanging the usual banter, the topic under discussion was the latest block blaster release Karan Arjun and if they should watch it for the third time that day. Sameer shook his head in negation muttering something about being busy.

Pandit laughed at him “Tujhe toh hum waise hi pooch nahi rahe hai! Aaj agar Bhabhi ko chod ke humare sath picture dekhne aayega toh teri picture bigaad jayegi!” Sameer retorted “Hello… Naina mujhpe aisi koi rok-tok nahi lagati! Woh toh bus aaj-kal factory mein bahoot busy ja raha hai. Aur aaj ek client ke sath meeting bhi hai.” Pandit smiled “Aare bhai pata hai waise woh tujhse kuch nahi kehti… par aaj toh kahegi hi na!” Sameer just looked at him strangely “Aaj kyun kuch kahegi??” Munna announced with a flourish “Kyun ki aaj toh tum premi-premikaon ka special din hai… Valentimes Day!” Sameer immediately corrected “Valentimes nahi, Valentine’s hota hai!” But then paled the next second “Oh shit! Aaj Valntine’s hai… yaar main toh yeh facory ke chakaron mein bhool hi gaya tha!”

Just then the professor entered the classroom and stared the lecture. But the advanced accounting concept covered that day was completely lost on Sameer that day, as all he could think was how he had completely forgotten this event. Suddenly the boy selling the roses outside the college gates that morning and the roses peeking out of a couple of purses made sense. Did Naina remember it this morning? He tried to remember if she had said or done anything to indicate that.

She had been in an extra loving mood and had woken him with some kisses this morning instead of her usual loud holler, Sameer, jaldi uth jao! Main pandhra minute mein nashta laga rahi hu. Yes, she had remembered, and he had forgotten! He tried to think how he could spin it. Should he apologise for the oversight or just show up with a gift in the evening and pretend that he had meant it to be a surprise?? But, what gift?! His mind suddenly drew a blank.

And he was supposed to meet Mr Mehta at 4 pm. Based on past experience he knew that the man would show up at least an hour late and then only God knew how long he would take… he and his endless complaints! Sameer was convinced the first thing Mr Mehta must have done as soon as he entered this world was complain to his mom about the cramped space he had been forced to live in for the last nine months and then probably give the doctor a piece of his mind about the force with which he had been pulled out!

He tried to refocus on the problem at hand. No gift and no wishes… he had really messed it up. Weren’t girls quite pedantic about this kind of mushy stuff? Oh dear… He was definitely going to be in trouble with his wife! He desperately hoped that the boy selling roses would still be around when he headed out.

The bell rang signally the end of the last lecture of the day. Sameer shuffled out few paces behind Munna-Pandit still lost in thought, till he heard Munna exclaim “Aare tu yaha! Aaj itne jaldi…” As he stepped out of the classroom, his eyes widened. There she stood her hair open in a white dress trimmed with some red border and a flowing red duppata, with a bunch of multi-coloured roses and a box wrapped in some shiny red paper. The other student exiting Sameer's classroom cast some glances at her with varying levels of interest.

He rushed forward “Naina, tum yaha??!” She smiled “Kyun? Tumhe apni biwi ke tumhare classroom ke bahar aane se koi problem hai?” and then continued in a teasing tone looking around “Hmm… shayad darr lag raha hai, ke kahi tumhe class ki ladkiyon se kum bhav na milne lage! Waise yeh Sakshi aur Jaya hai kaun?” While he stood nervous and fumbling for words, Pandit asked incredulously “Aare tumhe pata hai unke baare mein?! Sameer tune Naina ko bhi bata diya?”

Sameer shot him an irritated glance and gulped “Batane wali kya baat hai? Kuch bhi toh nahi hai… bus classmates hi hai. Sirf kabhi kabhi baat hoti hai… kaunsi meri koi khaas dosti hai, un se ya kissi bhi aur ladki se?! He was fuming inside, Ponga bhi na! Kuch soch ke bol nahi sakta… in fact bolne ki jarurat hi kya hai?! Behtar toh yahi hoga ke bus muh band rakhe! Waise hi Naina aaj naaraz hogi mujhse… yeh toh aur aag mein ghee dal raha hai!

Naina looked thoughtful “Maine toh kuch aur hi sunna tha… ke badi hass-hass kar baate hoti hai…” Sameer stepped closer “Naina, promise aisa kuch bhi nahi hai.” And then he asked looking at the stuff she was holding “Aur tumhe yeh sab kisne diya?! Yeh acha hai… mujhse koi ladki baat bhi kar le toh problem hai… aur khud kisise gifts leke aayi ho!” His jaw clenched “Jarur uss Tebriwal ne hi diye honge! Ab tak aas lageye baitha hai… uska dimag toh main aaj bilkul theek kar dunga!”

She giggled “Buddhu… kisine diye nahi hai… main tumhare liye leke aayi hu!” He was flabbergasted “Tum leke aayi ho… par yeh toh ladke ladkiyon ke liye late hai!” She frowned “Aisa kyun? Main kyun nahi de sakti tumhe? Pyar ka izhaar toh bus izhaar hota hai… chahe ladka kare ya ladki…” As he nodded in acceptance, she held out the flowers to him blushing “Maine socha sirf lal rang ke nahi dungi tumhe. Hamare rishte mein saare rang hone chahiye, hai na?” His face lit up as he took the flowers and then she handed him the shiny package “Raat ko share karenge!” As he looked at the package with mounting excitement, she clarified hurriedly “Chocolates hai! Sone se pehele khanyenge.” He bit on his lower lip trying to control his blush.

Sameer glanced at his wristwatch and said “Baara baj rahe hai… main Nanu ko phone karke bata deta hu ke aaj thoda late aayunga… chalo lunch karne chalte hai.” Some quick goodbyes were said to Munna and Pandit and the love birds mounted the bike. As she happily slipped her arm around his waist, he said over his shoulder in a teasing tone “Aise chipak ke baithogi, toh aaj se paaka, na toh Sakshi aur na woh Jaya mujhse baat karegi!” She smirked at him “Yahi toh chahati hu main. Tumhare uss baniyan ke undar naam likhwane ke idea se toh mera yeh idea hi better hai!” He smirked back “Oh… toh yeh sara pyar iss liye mujhpe barsaya jaa raha hai… wahi sochu main, ke suddenly Mrs Maheshwari itni romantic kaise ho gayi…”

Naina narrowed her eyes “Ek toh, mujhe subhe wish bhi nahi kiya! Aur ab jab main khud tumhare liye gifts leke aayi hu, toh mujhe unromantic hone ke taane de rahe ho… Isse kehte hai, ulta chor kotwal ko daate!” He smiled guiltily and held his one ear “Sorry jaan… bilkul bhool gaya tha! Pata hai abhi last lecture shuru hone se pehele Pandit ne yaad dilaya… main toh pura lecture yahi sochta raha ke tumhe kitna bura laga hoga. Aur ab kya karu?!” She admitted “Thodasa bura toh laga… par phir maine socha ke pura din yahi sochne se to better hoga ke main hi jaake wish kar deti hu.” She murmured as she rested her head on his shoulder gently “Happy Valentine’s Day.” He murmured it back too and then added cheekily “College ke bike stand mein nahi hote toh sirf aise hi wish kiya hua mujhe bilkul nahi chalta!” Her cheeks turned a lovely shade of scarlet.

She sighed happily as they sped away from the college, not for a moment agonizing over the fact that she was going to miss out on the lectures for the day. After all, there was so much more to life, as she had learnt over the last few months.
