I think they're an arranged match like Aish and Abhishek. Ranbir is getting old and his parents want him settled. Alia is the kind of cute and sweet girl that all Indian parents love. She's also from the film industry and can handle being married to an actor and deal with all the issues that come. Their families approve.

Apart from that, Alia's youth makes Ranbir look like he really achieved something big. She helps him get a younger teenage fan base which actors need. Alia also gets to look more desirable that this guy who dumped Kat and Deepika preferred Aloo. It's a win win for both of them.

They will end up getting married eventually.

He should date Sara then. Those younger and young loving fans have moved on to Sara since last KWK happened, and since Alia turned into an old-face from a baby-face. The baby-face was the object of many fickle-fans' fantasy.

Which season of KWK was this? Or are you talking about Neha’s BFF show where Manish came with Sonakshi? It was end of 2017 and he was asked who would be the IT couple of 2018 and he said Ranbir and Alia. When Sonakshi was asked who would be the big breakup of 2018 she said she’ll have to say Sid and Alia now. That episode is more of a proof that they are a marketing couple conceptualized by KJo because their official story is they didn’t start dating till New Years of 2018.

I think this started as a marketing scheme and at some point plans evolved into an arrange marriage set up. Whether they’ll make it to the alter anyway or not remains to be seen. Neetu is coming home soon and her husband is healthy now so she has a lot of time on her hands now 🤨.
