BC, I was just about to make a post on this. Glad you did. I had earlier said this elsewhere. Ayesha and Milind are just not meant to be because both are alike in temperament (pretty hot headed and stubborn) but poles apart in character. Any union between them would have spelt doom. While for Milsi, family ties matter, for Ayesha they dont, because she never had a real family and when she did have a chance to make a family, she blew it. Milsi gives a lot of respect to elders (even if he may not always agree with what they say). We saw that in his interactions with his father and PL. Ayesha does not know the first thing about respect. Milsi will always put the interests of the ones he loves over his own. Ayesha is too self centered to look beyond herself. If she did, she would not have instigated Suki to elope or kidnap Ritwik to let his baba know the'truth' or deliberately drive a wedge between Milsi and Prachi knowing how much he loves her. So if they had gotten together their lives would have been sure hell.
Milsi and Prachi are opposites in temperaments but very much alike in character. That is why their union is blessed and they would make a successful pair.
Morever, Ayesha mostly unleashed the rough, brutal side in him when he tried expressing his love. Prachi is the one who brought out the gentler side in him. While with Ayesha he wanted to take, to own, with Prachi he wanted to give, to surrender. I think he understood the meaning of unconditional love only after he met Prachi. Milsi never knew a mother's love. His father was a strict disciplinarian whose views were at total variance with his and who never bothered to understand him. With Suki he had more of a parent-child relationship than a simbling relationship. He was the giver while she merely the acceptor. So he craved for that unconditional love. He thought he will find it in Ayesha. But she was too busy trying to escape him. So he was forced to demand her attention most of the time.
Prachi was the first person who kept giving, expecting nothing in return. She returned his hate with love, rudeness with kindness, scorn with concern, violence with gentleness, indifference with care. This woman with all her goodness confused him so much that he wondered whether she was at all human. That is why he had difficulty in accepting her actions as real and genuine. He was always sceptical and quick to jump to his own conclusions. The fact that she was Alaap's sister and a Shah did not help either.
When he realised that she was indeed made that way he fell desperately in love with her and longed to be a receipient of that love. Unfortunately her past with Neev always came in the way and it took him a long time to realise that she loved him and him alone. She unleashed a tenderness in him he never realised. He wanted to treasure and hold dear this precious being. As he told her on the beach scene, before he met her he did not know how to live, but now he cannot live without her. She is the one who has a tremendous hold on him. She is his biggest strength and also his weakness. He is not ashamed of exposing his vulnerability to her for he knows she will strengthen him. With Prachi he realised the true meaning of love -giving of oneself wholly without any expectations.
It would indeed be sad if the creatives ruin all this with this stupid track.
