I don't what writers are trying to do.
They quite deliberately show Kabir humiliating Pooja, making him the villain.
They quite deliberately show Pooja's flashback of her father being murdered by the senior Mittals, with sad bg music, wanting the audience to sympathize with her.
Then they quite deliberately show Kabir worried because her Mom is lost. But he is genuinely concerned that Pooja's mom is his "responsibility" and doesn't mention about how she is a leverage against Pooja. Trying to show the Kabir has some humanity.
Which way is the wind blowing?
The writers are openly acknowledging that all the humiliation and distress Pooja is undergoing right now is wrong.
At the same time, they are letting Kabir win this game of abuse.
You can't have the audience put their foot in both boats.

You are right. I was having this feeling since revamp. But people started giving lectures that this show is unique and each character is flawed etc., But whom should the audience route for??

In 4 LIons show or even EBP, the audience was firmly on the female lead/Aastha's side. Because they knew that male lead/Shlok will realize his mistake, and then there will be a redemption track.
Here there is no mistake in the first place. Kabir knows that his family is haraami, and yet he is supporting them.
Secondly, there is NO time for a redemption track.
If both the answers are in negative, then what are the writers playing at?
The audience in ITV is not so matured to see this see-saw, they want to know who they are watching the show for.
In Western shows, like the one I recently watched, The Originals, the story was told from the pov of the villain's family, so everyone was supporting them, but they were also supporting the victims. All the characters were grey, and it was in supernatural genre. But Western directors know how to write a script like that, and international audience is able to appreciate characters individually and appreciate the storyline.
I don't think Indian tv audience can do that. So, I feel this is a huge gamble by the makers which just backfired.
It is clear from Kabir's actions, how he is humiliating and harassing Pooja, that he doesn't like her.
Then why didn't Kabir let Dhruv kill her?
If he hates Pooja, it would have been easier for Dhruv to let him kill her.
Also, why did he get so angry at the gundas for hitting her?
He thinks gundas are wrong for hitting her but he is also grabbing her face and manhandling her.
How is different from Dhruv and those gundas?
They tried to kill Pooja bodily and Kabir is trying to kill her self-respect.
Both are equally bad.

I was feeling angry when Pooja has to pay respect to PKs photo... I was expecting her to take that photo out and hit it to ground and get Ashok Sharma s photo and do veneration to it... Amma is a good detective and was expecting some detective giri from Pooja too... All she is doing is crying after she found her mother...How how how the hell the makers are going to clear the mess in next 20 episodes????
