Teens and children (youth) decide who 'stars' are

Do you agree? The youth has a huge influence on who become current stars as they make up a significant percentage of the population who are significantly influenced by entertainment/popular culture/social media.

For example, The craze that a film starring Varun and Alia generates among the youth is no feat. Barring the fact that they are dharma talent and are popular among the audiences, it is the youth who they appeal to the most. And I am talking about kids who are 6-7 years old will rush to the theatres to see them.

Ananya/Tara /Sara/ Jhanvi generate a significant amount of views for their interviews on youtube despite being new and soty 2 doing only decent business. again, mostly kids/teens.

I think we underestimate the power of youth. It seems to be an essential for young people to relate to actors/actresses now days? Has this always been the case?
