Talent khatam ho gaya hai kya??

Remakes, recreations...where is the originality gone?

For one Andhadhun and Badhai Ho, there is one Coolie/Judwaa.

For every Chale Aana, there is a Bagchi version of remake songs, the next being Main Toh Raste Se Jaa Raha Tha...WHY?!

Don't get me wrong, I love masala entertainers, recently I saw a South film called F2- Fun and Frustration and laughed my butt off. It was an original script but it so well done that I couldn't control my laughter.

But why is Bollywood remaking something that has already done so well? Naya laao kuch. Paise kamaa loge, but aapki audience ab focus shift kar rahi hai apna. Endgame is the highest grossing film of the year so far. F&F is doing so well. Same for Lion King.

Easy earning. Public kuch bhi dekhegi. Dikhao kuch bhi bana ke. Start a protest.

Lion king is a rehash of the older version..Hakuna matata is something I heard in childhood. Jungle book is film adaptation of a book on which already a tv series was made.

MCU movies r series like krish or dulhaniya series that people snub off..Even if they dont appeal to elite taste here..They were pretty successful.

Recreations happen coz audience taste changes with time.. Something that was super successful earlier and deserves to be equally popular among new gen should be adapted according to current sensibilities..Like Mahabharata, Tenali Rama, Jungle book, lion king, even devdas..

Initially even I didn't like the concept of recreation of old songs like Humma Humma..But surprisingly when I heard both the versions I liked the beat of newer one..

About south movies..BW adaptation gives them a wider audience..Never heard about Arjun reddy..But Kabir singh was super successful and even caused nationwide publicity for the original

And tbh, Krish and Dulhaniya cannot be compared to MCU...11 years of dedication, plus behind the scenes kitni mehnat lagi hogi to weave together such a story. I wasn't in India when Endgame released and was shocked to see the audience reactions on YouTube, aisa laga 90s ka single screen hai, sirf logon ne coins nahi pheka 😆

But my point is that come up with something new na, why every second film is a remake and every song is a recreation.

There are certain songs that werent as great but the remixes sound better...i dont like ARR's music in general but I liked the new version of Humma, Aankh Maarey OG was okayish acc to me...ab okayish mein 4 aur rhythm daal diye aur FX daal diya toh acha lagega.

But the biggest factor for Humma was that ARR was involved in making the new version.

Same goes with Chalti hai kya 9 se 12 and Oochi hai building, Anu Malik was creatively involved...so its not possible to go wrong since the song is a music director's baby and they can do justice to it.

Now Honey Singh's version of Dheere Dheere se was urgh...if NS were involved it would've probably been better. Same goes with Ae Mere Humsafar, Dhak Dhak, Shehar Ki Ladki, Gazab Ka Hai Din...AM's involvement would've made a hell of a difference.

Bollywood ki problem ye hai ki OGs ko either acknowledgement nahi milta hai ya toh izzat nahi milti hai...next year Coolie No. 1 release hogi, VD gaano ka credit lega ki mere pe picturise hua, Kumar Sanu ka naam definitely aayega...Sameer aur Anand-Milind ka kya? Unhone benchmark set kiya na ki film mein purane gaane ko hi use kar rahe ho promo mein bhi. Unka kaam hai jo 1995 se leke aaj tak people love those songs.

Also my point is that the films can be made again in a different way and taste since u have 2 hours to set the mood and feel, but the songs are basically classics that are max 5 mins long...why even touch them...just to make quick money and to show on YouTube ki humko XYZ number of hits mil gaye?

More than BW movies its the music that has gone for a complete toss 🤢.

You talk about originality and then you put movies like F&F and Lion King. Lion king was a remake and was strictly okay. Disney did far better job with Jungle Book remake. F&F is a crap series and same as Dhoom, and the latest movie hasn't even done that well in India. And I loved Endgame but let's not get carried away. I loved it not because it was a good movie but because it was an emotion. Otherwise if you analyze the film, its no different than your other generic superhero movies. Time travel is one of the most laziest concepts ever which has been repeated so many times. There is no originality to it. Also just like the first Avengers they made Iron Man do the sacrifice play, only difference that he died this time.

Regional movies have all the talent now.

YEah I agree. I watched F2 starring Venkatesh and it was such a hoot! The VFX was also much btr than many Bollywood films now 😆

I like how they know what they do the best...thats what keeps them going

I mentioned F&F because I saw its collection was higher than any other film that released alongside it...there was a time when hollywood films wouldn't get even half the screens that bolly films get...so in respect to that...maybe if bolly made better quality of films irrespective of what genre, this wouldn't happen.

Lion King had many people from the original movie in the remake...like the voice for Mufasa, Hans Zimmer and Elton John...they know what they did and what they can do in the new version...so thats where the difference lies na. Other than Anu Mallik and ARR I havent seen any other creator being a part of a recreation. Maybe if they were the songs would actually be better
