Sanjivani promo is out - Page 31

Annika's introduction was the best of a character in some time now! Loved how it was never ott in a way of her giving a bhashan to shivaay in true sense about right and wrong of what he was doing. Rather in her own unique style she told him off and later gave it back to him for insulting her. There was spark and you just knew she isn't someone to be messed with. And it was all verry entertaining to watch!

I haven't seen sanjivani though so i am not aware of what her character is and all that. The promo i didn't like it much so maybe after a month or so will give the show a watch in one go.

In Anika’s intro, less was more. She conveyed her sass, her strength all within 2 minutes - smashed his windshield and threw his own dialogue back in his face. Baat khatam. Nothing else needed.

Yeh Ishaani is super hyper and so called “rule obsessed” girl. She makes Shivaay look chilled out in contrast cuz well his OCD wasn’t so put on and poorly executed. 🤷‍♀️ This girl toh is hyper moral policing in every other scene and it’s really not suiting SC.

I’m not sure what SC envisioned when she signed on for this character but first impression is not going well so far. If she picked this character simply for on paper “strict girl” traits, even those aren’t being executed well. Problem isn’t that she’s an uptight character but the execution....the SC who single handedly stood out in all her IB scenes with so many characters just couldn’t break through the clutter of this epi.

I was weirdly reminded of the redux which was another case where SC’s charisma was repressed in the name of “different character” and we all saw how that went 🤷‍♀️ Lol

I have a doubt are they carrying forward anjali from sanjivani 1 or dmg. Eitherways anjali was a little kid back in sanjivani juhi was much much older to her so where do they all stand age wise today? Because anjali and juhi presently look like they are of the same age.

Unless they have simply kept the same names here there for some nostalgia without much relevance to it in timeline sense.

Lol the DMG Anjali was also a continuation of Sanjivani Anjali so they aren’t seperate people. This show seems like it’s based only ten years after DMG so Anjali is married, that’s all. Juhi looks her age....late 40s...she’s 15 years older than Anjali so that works out. She was a young early 20s intern when Anjali was 5-6 years in original Sanjivani

Shashank is like 65 now it seems but he doesn’t look it 😂

@AY oh that doesn't sound good at all LOL. Rule obsessed and hyper aren't exactly the best combo. They need to get a balance in writing so that SC gets the needed space because she otherwise manages to make a mark and impact in whatever is given to her. Yep annika's intro her not saying much yet enough to make the right impact. Specially that last smirk that till date stays with me. No other character ever had that level ka impact.

Shashank is the evergreen man of sanjivani LOL but seriously MB hasn't aged at all.

So shaadi made hip hop anji go all desi Dr Anjali eh?:P somehow it seems so weird to see anjali of sanjivani and dmg world see dressed up like that.

I wish I was exaggerating. Lol

But SC’s character is damn OTT so far and it really isn’t suiting SC one bit....it’s a weird mix of aloof and hyper. And the writing is so poor that in trying to maintain the “mystery” of her background, they aren’t executing her one on one scenes well. Like the Haryanvi intern girl toasted her birthday with an orange juice toh this Ishaani weirdly got senti but emotional impact nahin aaya 🤷‍♀️....and two seconds later Ishaani started SCREAMING at that girl cuz she didn’t put the cup in the right trash can 🙄 started threatening to call the police and whatnot.

Not sure what future “revelation” is supposed to justify her personality but it’s stilted so far and not suiting SC 🤷‍♀️

lol I guess she’s wearing halter blouses with her sari so that’s some concession to “modern” Anjali from DMG. Lol

Ouch this is actually sad to read. But when doing this past backstory based characters writing is very important because people dont know the past and superficially mystery nai banti the one point is present scenes and trying to make a connect with the character and then subsequently the character's past and everything. And OTT toh kidhar bhi acchi nai lagti.

I am actually so done with sad past being the major point for story har jagah yehi chalu hai be it for individual characters or love story between leads!😐

It's quite ironic....for all the talk of how IB was Obros ka show blah blah blah....SC still got a SOLID impactful scene in her intro epi.....I noticed HER the most in the whole pilot.

And is Sanjivani mein she is just SUCH a pakaau character....😕....like her spark has been deliberately repressed and she is struggling to function in whatever space they've given her.

Oouch that hurts😞 i was finally gearing up to watch bohat mushkil se almost ghaseetoing myself to watch it but yikes that just sounds bad and rn i don't have the stamina for it. *sigh* oh well anika toh baar baar koi nahi de sakta . There is only so much the poor girl can do for a shit character
