I love the contrast you've highlighted between Babes and HS. On one hand, as you said, Babes has gotten "only a few drops" of this love and she's already yearning for more but won't voice it out loud. On the other hand, HS was continuously drenching himself with water, trying to navigate through all the complexities of what transpired last night. He's sure of what he wants and isn't afraid to express it whether it's in direct words or actions. Babes on the other hand needs to be eased into it. I have always loved that about HS. In every emotion and action of his, there is conviction. He knows his mind and knows what outcome he seeks.
He has always been confident and self-assured in his love for her, as well as in his ability to be patient and to wait for as long as she needed before she could open up and answer the call of his heart.
