Let me make it clear to you two things:

(A) I never saw your post nor I was attacking you, had I seen your post, I would have directly quoted you, as I always say I like conversations with you. So it wasn't a backlash to you at all.

(B) My point wasn't that cricketers shouldn't be questioned or they are selfless soldiers who aren't doing anything for money. My point was they were wrong with that question.

My point was these cricketers play the same in IPL or Internationals, but somehow some people claim that they play better when more money is involved when the thing is, they have been playing same in both IPL and Internationals.

Also I think you are mistaken that Dhoni was talking place of someone more deserving in the world cup on the basis of reputation rather than merit. Dhoni actually had a very good year with the bat before the world cup, plus Rishabh Pant had a horrible outing behind the wickets when Dhoni was rested, so Indian team had to play Dhoni as there is no one as good as Dhoni behind the wickets for India, while he had a good year with the bat.

I was just trying that playing a victim thing with the backlash. There was never any backlash.

From what I've read though, Dhoni was booed by Indians in England and they took 4 wicketkeepers? But anyway I could care less about Dhoni.

Virat is not a bad captain. I actually really like his attitude and aggression. But the Virat-Dhoni-Shastri nexus needs to be broken. Their nexus is unhealthy for the team. Shastri as a coach enables Virat in good decisions and bad. We need a new coach who gels well with Virat, but is willing to question, confront, and challenge him too.

I am a die-hard Sachin fan and I think Sachin did a disservice to team India by dragging on his career when he was well below peak. It really prevented the team from nurturing new talent.

Dhoni is doing the exact same thing. Dhoni is fit and meets the fitness requirement. But his batting is a mere shadow of the past. He isn't giving his 100%. Pant is excitable, erratic, and even sloppy sometimes - but he's so raw and inexperienced. If Dhoni retires now we can at least start nurturing Pant or other young keeper batsmen in the queue.

I remember how the Brett Favre hangover kept Aaron Rodgers in the sidelines, and lo behold Aaron Rodgers was a much better quarterback.

As for Rohit, he is a good white-ball cricketer and captain. He's had some snafus and bad decisions, but Mumbai Indians have flourished under him. But I think ousting Virat for him at this time will even deepen the rifts.

I dont know whether the team hotel anushka rumour is true or not but rohit and virats rift is going on for some time now. Sad coz i like both but not ravi shastri.

Well india took two wicketkeepers which is normal. Dinesh Karthik and Dhoni.

KL Rahul is not a wicketkeeper for India, he was originally the number four batsman, before Dhawan got injured, and he was promoted to open with Rohit. Calling him wicketkeeper in the context of criticism, is like criticising the selection of Dravid in 00s, saying why are they taking extra wicketkeeper. Pant was selected due to injury to Dhawan. And his selection wasn't on the basis of wicketkeeping, but for his batting talents.

While they obviously shouldn't have selected Sankar or Karthik, when players like Rayudu and Pant were available, but Dhoni was hardly the problem.

As for booing Dhoni, well there are a bunch of entitled fans.
