IF the social media goings-on are any indication, then a divided cricket team dressing room may not just be a speculation. There is talk that Rohit Sharma has unfollowed Anushka Sharma, long after he unfollowed Virat Kohli. And though Virat and missus don’t show up on Rohit’s ‘following’ list, the skipper hasn’t overhauled his account yet – he still seems to be following Rohit and his wife. Your diarist has learnt that the problem started some years ago, when Rohit and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan left the management company that Virat is associated with. At the WC in London, everything appeared hunky dory until the Indian team’s abrupt exit after the semis. So which bridges have been burning?

but based on my world cup analysis

i think rohit should stick as a batsman....not every great player ends up as great captain

kohli is fine but he was little too confident ...which led to downfall of a potential world cup winning team..still he needs to improve himself...he is captain material

for later hardik pandaya can become captain as he is an allrounder...but then is he test class player? maybe for one day

pant should be in as keeper....dhoni should retire gracefully

I remember when Anushka sharma alone was present at the dinner hosted by india embassy in australia I think, none of the others wives made it and people were talking about it. Rohit sharma at the time had liked or tweeted against Anushka . That's when the unfollowing also happened I think.

I also feel that there's a rift between Virat and Rohit and they have their own camp .

rohit has shikhar , jadeja , bumrah etc

Virat has Chahal, Kl Rahul, Hardik

Maybe that's why he wants Dhoni to remain too coz all of them listen to him.

Based on just WC to make Rohit a captain is stupid. Moreover, we reached the semis, I don't get some of our countrymen who are not at all supportive to the team, matlab if they win great if not lets riot.

I do agree though that this Kohli Shastri Dhoni nexus needs to break and esp Shastri needs to go, that guy is useless.

Hey what about Dhoni having 25% stake in Amrapali group? There were some money laundering allegations as well.

And just a few days ago when I had questioned why Dhoni and before him Tendulkar didnt have the grace, honour and integrity to put India first and retire and give more deserving ones a chance, there was some backlash here that one must never question these individuals as they were somehow above board. Typical!! Hmph!

I remember you quoting me in that thread, I couldn't reply because of the thread closing.

Let me make it clear to you two things:

(A) I never saw your post nor I was attacking you, had I seen your post, I would have directly quoted you, as I always say I like conversations with you. So it wasn't a backlash to you at all.

(B) My point wasn't that cricketers shouldn't be questioned or they are selfless soldiers who aren't doing anything for money. My point was they were wrong with that question.

My point was these cricketers play the same in IPL or Internationals, but somehow some people claim that they play better when more money is involved when the thing is, they have been playing same in both IPL and Internationals.

Also I think you are mistaken that Dhoni was talking place of someone more deserving in the world cup on the basis of reputation rather than merit. Dhoni actually had a very good year with the bat before the world cup, plus Rishabh Pant had a horrible outing behind the wickets when Dhoni was rested, so Indian team had to play Dhoni as there is no one as good as Dhoni behind the wickets for India, while he had a good year with the bat.
