That's how people are, highlight the flaws after flawless first impressions in a long journey which give a black & white image. It's only over time that we find that average human being is overall grey.

I think it's good.

I had already said, Bajaj will bring out a completely different layer from every character he will interact with directly or indirectly, especially AnuPre. He will bring all of these characters to grey zone & prove how right is his understanding about the world with most people being in grey, something these characters never thought before & were dwelling in black-white compass only.

I love what you have written in bold, that Bajaj will bring out the grey in everyone. No comparison but this reminded me of Joker trying to bring the carnal side of man in everyone.

However, I doubt if the intention is to bring out the grey in people because though that's true enough. There are people who are good who do grey things believing they are good. That's not grey. That's having a moral compass so idealistic it becomes not ideal. If you have read Scion of Ikshvaku by Amish, you'd connect to Ram. He wasn't grey at all, but he still did things that others perceived to be wrong. Again, not comparing Anurag to Ram or anything. But, his portrayal was that of a good man, and one grey character bringing out grey shades in a man who supposedly had no such grey shades for 20 odd years of his life is a little off.

Prerna scorning her agreement-husband is the right action of a supposedly good woman, her meetings with Anurag in Switzerland, from an ideal compass view, are wrong, but they really aren't, they don't make her grey either.

And, I am from an old school of thought. Black shines in the presence of white. Grey emerges victorious when there is black as well as white. When grey makes everything else grey, then the uniqueness of grey ceases. So, Anurag and Prerna being white, made Bajaj's grey unique. Making them grey too, would in my opinion, would equalise the shine, making it redundant.

If we look at Ram's actions without context, they appear not so good but with context, you are left with a conflict on how his actions were meant for the greater good even though he paid a personal cost for all those actions. Same with Krishna & that's the beauty about them. They highlighted the grey situations which can be debated till today but we still hold them to such high status with a complete picture in mind.

Context becomes everything. White-grey-black is all about context.

Grey doesn't mean Bajaj will make everyone have a compass like that of him but he for sure will take them away from extremes of black & white in all situations & make them subjective. He will bring the conflict in the subtle way. If Bajaj indeed has a story worth some weight, this attitude is important to understand him. AnuPre actions right now can be aptly called flawed & limitations of human nature & not necessarily grey. The whole white-grey-black thing is highly relative & subjective. It also highlights bajaj's way of thinking about Prerna. He wants her loyalty but he doesn't question her when she yearns for Anu or goes to meet him because he recognizes that inevitable flaw.

Every character now will reveal a layer, they didn't before. AnuPre always had shades but it's only now they will be more evident. And some people bring good & bad out of us even without our knowledge, Bajaj is one such. Besides, evolution is real in human beings.

Anu is indeed a man who can't channel his frustration. He lashed out at Nivi when she confronted him about why was she not informed about Bajaj before. He can't handle multiple things at one time if all of them require his immediate attention & he is impulsive as well with the way he trespassed into Bajaj's house. He doesn't command a authoritative body language that makes people stop at a distance like Bajaj does. I mean even Komo could overpower him, something she would have never been able to do had it been Bajaj. He is not so much physically strong as well on how easily he was captured by the goons when Prerna was kidnapped & how easily Ronit overpowered him in the factory. He is indeed a highly flawed man but just because makers say he is ideal doesn't mean he is without flaws. Him being pinned ideal forces him always to stick to black-white zone where every grey thing becomes non-acceptable to many.

IMO we cannot equate both, I don't think men can even file domestic abuse case against women. There is a reason most laws are skewed towards women, and much cultural-social background to it. Another member has posted a lovely post on it, in this same thread.

Now coming to Anurag, he was misleading komo, pretending to be in love with her. He never outright said he was not interested in sleeping with her. Even went to honeymoon with her and hid in the bathroom. Here also komo was quite insistent and forceful with him. Why did he run to bathroom and not hit her?

Komo has no prior indication from him about his disinterest. It's wrong to coerce some one to sleep with you if they don't want to, but here she was drunk and he could have easily handled her imho. Maybe run into the bathroom like last time. After hitting her he expressed regret and the next day went back to pretending to be in love with her and was scared she would remember the slap.

It must be an instinctive reaction, but I hope these reactions are not limited to women. I want him to slap bajaj in anger or frustration. Would he dare?

I completely agree with all the other parts of the posts. The makers as well as the characters around anurag try to tell us he is ideal, along with the bg score nd all. But his actions are not ideal. This creates a dissonance for viewers. Reason for him to get crucified for his flaws. While for bajaj it's the opposite and hence he will get worshipped for any good deeds, however small it is.

He managed to thrash Ronit in instincts, so he is impulsive for sure. For Bajaj, he tried hard to intimidate him but Bajaj plays a dangerous power dynamic with him & commands a body language that Anu doesn't understand.

First impressions are hard to let go. I mean in GOT, people rooted for Dany & were upset when she turned all mad even though her acts were subtle about how ruthless she was as a conqueror only because her first impression was of a girl who just wanted to go home. In contrast was Sansa who evolved to be mature, went through hell throughout & was still hated because in her first impression all she wanted was to be queen.

Even I am waiting for the day when he might physically attack Bajaj. But right now he dreams of getting beaten up by him instead, such is Bajaj's hold on his mind.

This body language and power dynamic is exactly why we cannot apply the same laws for men and women. Komo was not some vulnerable women, she too was powerful and pulled strings. Anu would not dare to hit her in her conscious state. He only did it when she was drunk and vulnerable. This is my main gross with him. He's a nice boy, but irresolute and indecisive imho.

I understand your point about got, but more than first impression it was the failure of the makers to show a convincing journey for the characters. The hasty last two seasons was too rushed to build on anything properly. The book is much more elaborate and hopefully will be more convincing.

GOT properly ended in season 6. 7-8,they made a khichdi out of show. Looked like some EK writer was writing the script, inconsistently. Season 8 did the gross injustice to almost all characters is the show.

As for books, blessed will be the day when Martin will shower us petty readers with the installment of his franchise. Until then, I pray he lives long to actually complete those books.

Agre3 completely!

#1 Anurag entered the gray zone long time back when he humiliated prerna and half married komolika. Respect for women ? Nil.

#2. Just bec ram ram jai raja ram is played as a bg on him, doesnt mean he is ram incarnate. Nor is prerna durga ma . Anu prr are 2 idiots.

#3 prerna trusts bajaj more than anurag . If she trusted anurag, chahe woh barbad ho at the hands of bajaj or he faces him head on, pre wud support anurag . But she thinks bajaj can ruin anurag again like he did before n anurag is helpless, he is incapable of fighting with bajaj. Same with komo. Pre mindlessly messed up with her while anurag thought that komo will ruin pre and everyone . I would say both deserved what happened to them.

#4 . Anurag deserves to know the answers to his questions. Slapping is wrong but he is not . Anger / rage can never be the solution but looking at the instigation , he lost it ..he lost the sense of right and wrong aftrr what happened in his life.

Havent watch epi, read the update.. So he did slap her? Without her saying or humiliating him?

Did he slap her just because she was silent and didnt want to confront him?

Am confused on how no one is reacting to this physical abuse?
