There are articles from experienced umpire how overthrown runs even if given should have been 5 and not 6 ... NZ wins based on that!

There was an error and it should be fixed I feel ... In a beauty pageant when a wrong winner was declared even if how hurtful it may be, they went ahead and rectified the mistake to declare the correct winner ... ICC should do the same! ... Umpires are humans and they can err too .... but once mistake comes forward it should be fixed and correct winner should be declared .... OR they should do a re-match! ... I mean this win just doesn't sit well on the thrown of fairness (even if it is claimed English players are the most decent, honest and hard working and they deserved it) .... They technically didn't win since a mistake was made!

ICC should really take a concrete step... I mean wold cup comes every 4 years ... many players may retire by then ... it just doesn't look fair ep when many experienced cricketers and even umpires have come forward claiming the same .... If only they can opt for a rematch so the world cup win doesn't look tainted!

England doesn't care much about the taint of the win though, they didn't care about the 1966, doubt they will care about this lol.

Some of the ICC rules really needs to be reviewed ! Bcz it is just not about NZ, its about all of the teams participating in big tournament like World Cup!

It shouldn't be partial to either of the teams. More boundaries rule is so thrash! Though Both of the teams performed exceptionally well NZ bowling attack is commendable IMO..their line n length, and ability to bowl perfect bouncers n Yorkers n that rhythm throughout those 50 overs was just outstanding! England jaisi strong batting line up ke aage they saved even 241 ka target! ( and NZ's most of the batsmen were out of the form)

IMO rule about boundary on overthrow bcz of the batsman deflection should be scrapped whether intentional or not!

ICC was ready to share the trophy had it been two days of continuous rain but not when both of the teams played their best in such a thrilling game n scores got equal both times !

Nothing will change the fact that NZ is the actual winner. They were stripped off it by Kumar Dharmasena.

This world cup has been so poor.

One of the worst World Cup. Rain and bad Umpiring nearly destroyed it.

The Umpiring in the world cup was garbage. There were so many bad decisions by umpires in every match.

Only thriller final gave them some dignity otherwise It was a horrible.

Apart from bad umpiring and bad rules

Stokes play sensibly that's why ENG won the world cup .. the last ball played by him of boult is a full toss ball still he not hit hard, he just soft push and run for double because he knows if its a tie then they will get a chance again to win it, or if he hit hard and caught out then no chance

while Guptil does not use his brain ...he should try the lofted shot on the last ball of super over as I am damn sure he knows the rule that if the match will be a tie, ENG will be the winner ..even if he is caught out ENG still the winner

He has a point but why whine so much about it. It's a game, someone wins, someone loses. What matters is that both played equally well.

Football World Cup 1966, when in the final against Germany, where it was disputed that Geoff Hurst's second goal didn't crossed the line(no goal line technology during those times), making it 3-2 in favour of English, who eventually won the match 4-2(Hurst scored a hattrick).

That still looks fair since even if that debatable goal isn't counted still 3-2 in favor of English .. right?! ... But here in ICC those overthrown runs aren't really debatable, hence it feels out of line! .... All I saw was that they were desperate to win this year by any means possible so I am sure they care a damn ... but I think for a good section of people, this world cup will stay tainted and their win questionable!
