Why Priyanka Chopra opted out of Salman Khan's Bharat? Revealed!

Priyanka Chopra quitting Salman Khan's Bharat gave rise to a lot of controversies as Salman was seen mocking PeeCee during the film's promotions. Reportedly, it was due to her wedding with Nick Jonas, the actress had to opt out from the project. But if the recent reports are to be believed, PeeCee doesn't want to be a part of the Bollywood project just because it has a big hero or big director's name.

As reported by Deccan Chronicle, a director friend of Priyanka was quoted saying, "Priyanka can’t take any Bollywood assignment just because it has a big hero’s or a big director’s name attached to it. Her role has to say something. She’s being watched very closely by fans across the world."

This is why she chose to do a relatively small film like The Sky Is Pink, rather than a massive production like Bharat with Salman Khan.

Talking about her Bollywood plans a source close to Deccan Chronicle revealed that Priyanka is in talks with several filmmakers in Bollywood for possible projects. He said, "She is in negotiations with several prominent filmmakers, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar and Vishal Bhardawaj. She has no intentions of giving up her career in Hindi cinema."

Sources further say that there's a strong possibility of Priyanka starring in her next production. Meanwhile, on the work front, the actress will make her Bollywood comeback with the Shonali Bose's directorial The Sky Is Pink which also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. Also, Priyanka is currently working on a biopic on Ma Anand Sheela, who partnered with spiritual guru Acharya Rajneesh. The film will be directed by Barry Levinson.

Then why lobby for the film? I don't think Salman would lie about it. He doesn't need that...

Did she come to know about her role long after signing it so she had to leave at last moment?

The close friend said she can't do any role just because it casts big star or has big director but then mentions only big filmmakers she is in touch with to get work....

Let just people forget instead of funny excuses.

Lobby for role first then make excuses. She can use name of cast/director of her new film for publicity and leave Bharat alone like she did with the film.

Future projects would obviously not be the reason for her to drop something months ago. When media doesn’t have answers they start making up stories with so called sources. As usual people start bashing Priyanka though.

Salman lies when he has to save face like when he lied he wasn’t driving the car. His ego was hurt when Priyanka walked out, he did need to do that to make himself feel better.

She’s barely talked about the movie at all. If she didn’t think it was worth her time to do it why would it be worth her time to clarify things about it? It’s not important to her. Unless she’s directly asked in a interview during The Sky Is Pink promotions or something I serious doubt she will say anything, she’s not going to go out of her way to give an explanation. As for AAZ he had given a different story about how PC was cast from the beginning, she was his first choice and he had gone to NYC to convince her. Will he repeat this story to object to what Salman said? Probably not because he’s scared of him.

I didn't say Salman doesn't lie. I think there is no need to lie in this case.

It's not that he needed publicity so he used her name or something...

If she did walkout from the movie how is he lying anyway?

She never denied lobbying for the movie or getting in touch with Arpita for that so that's not a lie too I guess.

Asking for a movie and then last minute walking out is unprofessional!!!
