I think it depends on sensibilities, like I wasted my time watching that Film Companion debate between Ranjan and the three champus. Ranjan had a certain different sensibilities, while the other three were vehemently stuck in one point, even defending the western movies but criticising the Indian movies for the same lol.

Thats the difference between a national award winner , who have probably watched all kind of cinema and analyse and wrote about it vs guys who are just filthy casuals , they can't even defend their points due to lack of exposure and it shows in their reviews too.

Though Desai try to be intellectual ,he can't judge a good film if it even hits on his face.

I just don't like that Desai guy, less aggressive version of Raja Sen. Isko har film se problem hai. Schuitra toh meh, khair chorro, Ranbir ki fan girl, jiska movie critique hamesha ek hi point mai tikka rehta hai. Anupama well woh critic hi nahi hai.

They have reduced movie reviewing to personal taste. And they use this favorite line "review is supposed to be personal" to justify their total disregard for even trying for objectivity while reviewing film to dive into deeper aspects.

Anyone with good English can be reviewers like them. I think Desai writes reviews just to improve his vocabulary so he can incorporate it in his spoken English.

What kind of therapy was he giving to rape victims as a physiotherapist? One, very rarely do they allow men to come in their vicinity because they are so traumatized and would prefer women to help them move around. Two, he is talking as though he has handled an entire unit of rape victims, which again am finding very hard to believe. Not with this kind of attitude and mindset.

I hope his wife or girlfriend takes note of this and shows him true love in the form of slap and kick
