EX Male Model exposes the dark truths of modelling industry - Page 2

Dunno specifically about the male modelling industry, but one of my distant relatives is this pretty rich guy with a thriving business who has done a few bit roles (like a background henchman to a mobster) in a couple of southern film industries. Many years ago he had gone to Mumbai to do some acting course. I asked him if all those exploitation stories in the Mumbai glam world is true. He said that what we hear in the media or through rumor millls is not even 1% of what happens. It is just very common.

I spoke to him long ago, this was before the twitter and paparazzi era, so I suppose it has only gotten worse. He himself didn't go through any exploitation because, well, he never really planned to "struggle" for a career as some big hero in any industry . It was more of a hobby he loved.

i think its all about the perception...

for us outsiders and general public what we might think that this business is all dirty and exploitative but for the models who r into this, it's very common and they r pretty content with it as well.

this's d choice they have to make. Also lets not forget that many models take up modelling to get into acting. You can't land up in mumbai and give audition after audition with practically no money in hand.

unless you don't get the right role, modeling is providing you bread and butter for ex - remember all the new faces that were launched by channel v where r they now..? they were all models.

so i guess what boils down in the end are your choices.

Okay it definitely happens, but Arjun Rampal? Have you seen his face? AS IF he would've have had an pooortunity to progress without going through this shady practice.

Yes I have seen his face and a LOT of girls find him hot including Deepika Padukone who had a massive crush on him and admitted it on KWK. Even his wife knew about this.

he wants to say that he's a macho tough punjabi guy who is homophobic but the idiot generalized the entire community in his statement. jackass...lots of punjabi models r working in mainstream modelling n happy with their job. this dude said he left modelling which enough said why he couldn't make it big so crying foul no its not about sleeping with ppl around, u can do with contacts n conncetions just like he mentioned himself in the video, but he couldn't walk that path successfully either. he looks enough frustrated and clearly modelling does not belong to him

no1 gets forced, there's another way of reaching to the top by making contacts and engaging with right people, but that would cost you your age..by the time u realize u have done something u already cross 40 that's why ppl tend to sleep around to get a quick foothold

And what exactly is wrong with being homophobic? Why the hell should everyone accept homosexuality with open arms? Is there a law which says so? No, so it's everyone' s individual choice. I think he shouldn't have generalised like that but that's what he must've experienced as a Punjabi guy and I also have seen how Punjabi guys are opposed to homosexuality. Just because you accept it doesnt mean everyone else should as well.

This guy doesn't look frustrated to me. He was an outsider who didn't have connections and the only other way for him to get to the top was by sleeping with his superiors which he found unacceptable. At the end of the video, he himself encouraged guys to try modelling but gave the pros and cons of it.

Just because Kangana slept with her daddy Aditya Pancholi to get roles, doesn't mean that everyone else will do the same. So this guy isn't crying foul, he's just telling the harsh reality.
