Sonakshi is not perfect imo. She has flaws or let’s say she is human as well... quite evidently showcased when she gets into a spat pre-inauguration asking the insolent man to not be allowed. She fights back, now with Karan’s (Romil) entry we will see her real capabilities to fight back. He is the past that she has not left behind and if she can fight that then she is more human than anyone can be. Isn’t it? That’s what each one of us fear, not wanting to face something that hurt us at one point in life. We tend to run away yet hold on to it and she has been doing that for 4 years and now is the real battle for her. She will be forced to let go.
She is normal even when she expects people to recognise her, in the hospital cafeteria she kept clearing her throat to gain attention from the nurse. She is an actress and she is very use to the attention she wants it and loves it. She likes when people compliment her, talk about her fame.
Her having a level of disagreement and dislike for Rohit comes from the fact that he dislikes her as in does not give her the attention that she gets from everyone. That is so normal for someone who is so use to people looking up to her.
She is nice because, that’s her personality, a lot of people are. But she is vulnerable, evident when her mother taunts her on her being a tv actress. She gets hurt but she is not evil to scream back, rather I feel she is the one who believes that her work will speak for her respect.
She being molested by Sumit, she does not show but she is affected by what he does with her. She is living up to it because she likes her work and has a compassion towards it. And unfortunately he comes in package with it, she has to bare him.
I am loving the layers to her character in the show, so far so good. We are yet to be introduced to Rohit’s layers he is yet to be unveiled looking forward to that.
Another shade to her character unveiled in today’s episode (2/07)- she has anger, she is normal, she fights she has mood swings and she feels pain. The way she puts up a fight with the ladies at the shooting location telling them off. The way she reverts back to his accusations, deep down she knows he didn’t accuse her of theft, he just asked where did you get the watch, but she behaved normal when she misinterpreted and told him off for accusing her. She silently accepted her mistake and apologised to the Sippy family for making them wait the whole night.
She is like a onion, the more you peel the more of her layers surface out. Brilliant stuff. I am really enjoying the depth that has been given to her character. It’s interesting and I am hopeful Rohit will get a similar amount of depth.
